Another post about an amusement park ride. What can I say - I just love them.
A small amusement park or fair or whatever their actual name is came to town again this year. I remember last year, I was the forever alone dudette, who had to go there alone to take pictures and look at all the people having fun. Needless to say, I didn't even think about going on an ride - mostly because I'm cheap and think that the rides are ridiculously expensive. But this year was different. Ruby called me late at night - around 9-10pm- and said that she could see the lights of the fair from her window and that we should go check it out. At first we were just walking around and admiring the rides. But then Maddie joined us and Ruby urged us to go to the scariest ride. She even paid for us. Thank you so much! :) And said that she'll get the adrenaline rush by simply watching us, because she's not a big fan of rides.
So the ride was the kind that only has 8 seats, 4 at the bottom and 4 on top separated by a big pole eg. when it's time to swap people, at the end and the beginning, 4 seats are on the ground and the other 4 are basically stuck up high, just hanging there until the pole starts to rotate and the ones who were up before are now on the ground and vice versa. (Before we even considered going on the ride, we saw people hanging there for a long time - since there wasn't many people wanting to go on the ride probably - it was late ok? but htey were there for like 5 minutes just hanging in the sky, waiting for the ride to commence, scary). I hope you understand how the ride works, if not I'm sorry, my description is bad and I should feel bad.
Back to our experience then. Got into our seats and the guy came to make sure that we are secure but there was some miscommunication between him and the guy controlling the ride from the booth. I started to panic because all that time he was meddling with Maddies seat and I could just see it in my head that he'd forget about me :D I don't know why I have to think thoughts like that and make myself panic even more. Don't worry he didn't forget about me. So we both were secure in our seats and the pole started turning taking us up in the sky. Now the seats twirled as well, making us face the ground while raising hire and hire up. That was the moment I instantly started regretting the decision to go on the ride. I try to stay positive but what if the seat really isn't that secure and for some reason opens and I will fall. It was freaking high up as well, not some child's play! A serious altitude. And it was dark! so the only thing we could see were the lights on the ground. To calm ourselves down we started pointing to the lights we recognised - like Morrisons or McD :D But when you constantly have the idea of falling down (most probably to your death) you really don't want to point. Instead I was trying to place my hands in a manner that if something were to happen with the seat I would be able to hold on to something for some time and not fall instantly. Yes I'm that kind of a weirdo.
We could see the others on the ground swapping around and I wanted to shout to them Hurry the f up!!! I can't be here any longer + I have some weird issues with the fear of heights. I kind of are afraid but at the same time I can logically calm myself down and not get panic attacks because of being high up anymore. But in that situation I was like:"oh god oh god oh god freaking run you bastards down there (who ended their rides and the ones who were just starting theirs) oh god oh god So Twilight part 2, how did you like it (Maddie just came from the cinema + she didn't answer :D) oh god I'm going to die" - pretty much sums up my time in hanging in the air. Not the most comfortable moments of my life but thankfully it was over in a few minutes and the ride began swirling and twirling. It was a lot of fun! I don't think I've ever held on to my seat with all of my body like I did then, because it was dark and our seats were twirling as well, there was a point we were upside down and didn't see practically anything but darkness around us, that made us think were the hell are we ahhhh yeah on a ride duh! :D I think we made like 10 full circles or so. I don't think I've ever been that physically tired and shaking all over the body, because my muscles were working full power just to hold on to the seat, after an amusement park ride and I've been to quite a few of them. This was definitely one of the best rides ever!
The end!
Jazzz...
