... shouted the two girls at the front of the raft, while we were stuck under multiple waves of ice-cold water.
And where was I at the given time? Why of course laughing my arse off at the back of the raft :D Oh my gosh, I haven't laughed that hard in months probably. They just looked hilarious when they saw a new wave coming and tried to get away from it by shouting at it (it always helps! :D ) and trying to climb to the back of the raft as well, while our instructor, who quite maliciously made sure the raft would be in that spot, not that I would ever blame him ;), was shouting keep still or something like that.
You must be thinking what on earth is she on about?!? Well...
The good thing about studying tourism is, quite frankly, tourism :D Field trips to be exact, that allow me to get to know the beautiful little country I'm currently residing in.
Last Wednesday was the first of them this year and we went whitewater rafting!! Woop Woop (who doesn't know what it is, Google it, that site knows everything).
When we got there, the river was still half full. You see, the Environmental Agency controls the dam and therefore the quantity of water in the river. To be honest, it was quite scary seeing all those rocks, could you imagine hitting them with just a rubber boat. Oh hell no, I aint ready do die yet! :D But soon enough the water came. We got into gear, wetsuits, helmets etc the usual stuff :D And first did a try run on the ground: got into boats, the instructor showed us the right position to sit and not fall - did you know you have to sit on the edge of the boat! Whaaaaaaat??? I'm defo going to fall in!
Then he familiarised us with the commandments, when to row and blah blah blah :D I kinda zoned out while he was talking about safety e.g. what to do when you do fall in - great, missed that so bye-bye this is my end :D
Done all that, we headed to the river - the most exciting part and guess what? It actually felt natural sitting at the edge of the boat and rowing + when rapids came, we could sit in the boat awwwyeaah! :D firstly we did like a test run, so everyone could get used to it only a few rocks etc. The second run though, oh my dear lord, the incident mentioned above happened, we crashed into every freaking rock in the river! But it was soooooo muvh fun, and no one fell in :D Although I did get some water in my wetsuit and the feel of it spreading on my back prrrr.... chilly to say the least :D On the plus side though I felt warm the entire night.
An totally worth being an hour and a half late for work, ooops :D
Ttyl
Jazzz...
