No place like home

This time my week home was absolutely booked. Go here and there, see them and those, do this and that. And obviously we had a little drama as well :D One person wasn't happy going to a joint christmas party. Didn't want to be a burden etc. Although everyone (3 people with cars then) had promised to pick them up: the one hosting the party; us, who lived closest to them; and another guest who came from the other side of town. And speaking to them they had promised to come, up until we arrived and learned that nope, suckazzzz :D Cool then...

The best part though :D I had mentioned my busy schedule, due to bank holidays museums where I wanted to take my little brothers to were literally open only one day (different days) that week. So later I heard that they had said that they're not forcing anyone to go and see them and blah blah blah :D hint hint wink wink. Passive aggression at its best form :D We had the similar thing last year where they did come to the collective christmas party and I didn't especially go and see them again that week.

This year we had a little last minute change of plans and had to cancel our New Years trip to Vienna :( but that meant I got to spend a couple more days at home. Without any plans. And I enjoyed just chilling at New Years eve. Eating good food, watching the tv programme, although I didn't understand the jokes a 100% percent :( and most of all getting dressed five minutes to midnight and just stepping out on the street to see the fireworks :D

All good in the end :)
And I miss home more and more :D

Please evacuate from the train immediately!

I had thought to go with an earlier train. Spend a couple of hours in London, catch up with EMO and do more cool London stuff, but she was out of town at the time and I thought I don't really want to be carrying my suitcase with me on oxford street... So took the latest train possible.

I had literally just sat down and taken my coat off, put my earplugs in and was prepared for the loooong journey home. I was all set: a book, a tablet with games and a keyboard to write up some blog posts. I glanced at the board and it said there will be replacement buses from Machynlleth due to flooding on the tracks. When I asked the train crew they knew nothing about it :S A couple minutes of confusion and then the announcement came: Please evacuate from the train immediately!

So everyone got off and they said there was a suspicious bag on the train and we now have to wait for police to come and investigate... Great... When police turned up they said it's nothing to worry about but we do have to leave the platform and wait around the corner... even the taxis were not allowed to park at the taxi rank. They said someone had come on in Birmingham and immediately got off but left the bag behind... Curious... We waited for a whole hour while the train left the station for somewhere less crowded than the town I presume. The train came back, everyone boarded and they soon said that there will be buses from Mach to Newtown and since we were so late departing they're going to wait another quarter of an hour for passengers waiting for the next train to board ours instead...

Immediately panic mode came on in me. I had 3 connections to make and although my original plan had left some delay time now this hour and a half + bus instead of train would not get me on the last train departing to the airport! So I set Mr. Special on a mission to see what my options are and I asked the conductors: 1st said that we can't be sure yet if I'll make it or not, keep asking, 2nd said that there are trains from London to the airport all night long so nothing to worry about. What? You sure? I'll take your word but I don't think so.

Next it turns out that the bus will take us all the way to Shrewsbury. Oh god... I can't stand being on a bus on the Welsh roads man. Meanwhile Mr. Special had phoned the National rail and told me to go see the station manager at Shrewsbury to see what happens next. There was mention of a taxi. :) A little before it got that bad for me on the bus we reached Newtown and the driver asked us if we want to get back on the train here. I ran!

As we had some time to wait in Newtown I went to talk to the driver and the conductor (the 2nd). And told them that I need to get to the airport and was supposed to go see the station manager at Shrewsbury but this train is now going to Birmingham. Should I stay or should I go? :D So they rang National rail and said I'll get a freaking taxi from freaking Birmingham!!!!! Yaya! Even the national rail lady in Birmingham station was surprised. But I got a 2 hour taxi ride and even managed to get some sleep during it :) Which was lucky because the airport was packed! There was no room to sit on the floor, unless you wanted to pretty much cuddle with someone else. Luckily again for me the security opened at 2AM and on the other side there were loads of seats where I could lie on and close my eyes. Around 4 an airport employee came round to wake up everyone who laid on seats because there was loads of people coming through and needing the seats and she wasn't wrong. There was literally a little corridor for you to go to your gate through a sea of people standing waiting for their gate to be announced. Manic!

All the flights were delayed -.- We were sat in the plane for an hour I think just waiting in the queue to take off. And then when I finally landed no one was there to greet me as they were stuck in a traffic jam :D LOL but I made it!!!!!!

Taking stock vol 3

Thanks, Jazz, for the homework. Btw, who said you can leave some things out from your list???

Making : Plans about my life, like Jazz I have no idea what to do :/

Cooking : Nothing, not my thing. I need a guy who can cook :D

Drinking : Water

Reading: "The Mastery of Love" and "Naiseks olemise kunst"

Wanting: To go back to UAE, was so warm and sunny. Winters are so not for me. Definitely need to think about living somewhere warm when it gets cold in here.

Looking: The snow outside, prrr and the pretty henna paintings on my hands, wish they would stay there a bit longer.

Playing: Nothing, I'm not addicted to any games.

Wasting: Time, but I'm on a holiday, so heyho, that's what holidays are for, right?

Sewing: Nope

Wishing: To know what to with my life; I could go back to AUE and stay there longer.

Enjoying: My holiday and doing nothing.

Waiting: For summer :D Too optimistic, I know...

Liking: All the sweets I brought back from my trip, I have never been a fan of dates, but they know how to make them so I'm officially addicted now.

Wondering: When will I figure my life out? How long my henna will stay on? What to wear to work on Monday?

Loving: The sweets with dates, shame I didn't buy more of these. Reason to go back though.

Hoping: To go to another trip soon, I need sun!

Marvelling: People outside, who goes out when it's -20 and more?

Needing: To do something productive with my free time.

Smelling: Nothing really, the regular smell of home.

Wearing: Comfy home clothes, it's holiday, okay, so I'm allowed!

Following: Mimi Ikonn

Noticing: That my hands are cold, should go under the duvet or something.

Knowing: I have work on Monday and all this chilled mood will end with this week.

Thinking: How nice my trip was and how productive I have been so far today.

Feeling: Unsettled, sorry Jazz for copying you! But feeling like there's more out for me but not really knowing what it is or what should I do.

Bookmarking: Nothing particular at the moment.

Opening: The fridge in a minute when I have finished this.

Giggling: -

Feeling: Cold but relaxed.

Watching: Nothing really since H&A is not on at the moment.

Listening: To Sky Plus

Taking stock vol 3

I was supposed to do this in August (every 6 months) but yeah... here it is :D
PS! Emma, there's an empty list for you too ;)

Making sense of my life and what to dooooooo... can't stay here forever. Or can I? Oh, please fate don't let me stay here forever!!! :D

Cooking the potato pancakes my nan always makes but never quite getting them right - yet ;)

Drinking water, water, lots of water. And icecream + vana Tallinn cocktails

Reading blogs. Didn't read even one book last year :( promise to make up for it this year though because I have loads waiting in a basket!

Wanting to know what am I supposed to do with my life. Get the higher calling or an epiphany you know, not just cruise about being content but not pushing myself or aiming for bigger things

Looking forward to holidays :D have some big plans in my head with different people to go with but finding the time is going to be difficult

Playing tablet games mostly, still loyal to my candy crush etc. And Simpson's tapped out and hay day. This is why I haven't got the time to read books :( they're so addictive man...

Wasting time on the above point.

Wishing I had everything sorted, because at the moment I feel incomplete. Something somewhere is missing from full happiness. I kind of like everything 50/50 - job, aber.

Enjoying my holiday at the moment :) it was nice being home and the couple extra days where there were no plans were just amazing and exactly what I needed.

Waiting for Mr special to come back with food :D yes I'm that crazy person having takeaways at the hotel :D

Liking my job actually :D And that is why I find it so hard to just up and go. The management experience is good + looks good on my CV. I freaking love doing orders and then freaking out about them later in case I made any mistakes :D

Wondering what this year will bring. They say the way you spend New year's eve is an indication of what the New year will be like.

Loving that every time I see my genius club friends it still feels like we're 17 again and back in school. Like Jane pointed out we were lucky. We were extremely lucky to have found each other: four weirdos peas in a pod :)

Marvelling Range Rover :D for knowing exactly what her dream is and doing everything in her power to get it + obviously enjoying the process :)

Needing a nice cosy place for reading books :D I still miss the large window sill I had living up campus :D yes I neeeeed that...

Smelling of olympea by paco rabanne. I think my first proper proper eau de toilette :D

Wearing primark :D yup I am slowly moving towards quality over quantity but clearly the move is at snail pace :D

Following still the same old blogs. Fun fact one actually changed their URL in Sept and I only now realised that hey, haven't heard anything about them for a long while :D (I use feedly and when the URL changes obviously I'm not getting new posts anymore) I currently have 30 unread blog posts, only dating a couple of days back... Am I following too many blogs? or are the bloggers I follow too active? :D

Noticing a fear appearing in my usual indifferent self. Somewhere deep deep deep inside even I am starting to think what happens if... (regarding what's happening all around the world). Maybe it's because I'm so far away from home...

Bookmarking nothing at the moment. Haven't really had any time to just lull around and find incredible stuff online to bookmark. Maybe I'm just stuck in a rut: sleep-work-sims-blogs-candycrush-sleep :D

Opening some late christmas gifts from Mr. Special's parents :) I got better stuff than he did :D HA!

Giggling at a glitch in my Sims game where a penguin walks sideways and now backwards :D It's the little things! ;)

Feeling unsettled. Change is needed but where will the initiative for it come?

Watching rubbish TV :D The amount of American well known shows has dramatically dropped since the last time I wrote this post and British Benefit tv has taken their place :D I plan to write a full post about that though :D hopefully before next year :D

Listening less to my Estonian radio, hence why in the monthly playlist there is no Estonian music this time. I just haven't heard anything good. Although while I was home I watched a show recapping the greatest hits of last year. I must act quickly and find the good ones before I totally forget :D

First half of this was written up in London, on holiday. Then Mr. Special came back with food and I totally lost the flow. I feel a lot of repetition went on (as always :D) so some points are not as explained as they would be standing alone.

Playlist

Ooopsie a bit late but better than never right?

This time again I had loads to choose from and hopefully got the right ones here.

Selena Gomez ft Asap Rocky - Good for You
I kind of only like the first part though :D

The Corrs - Bring on the night
Fell in love immediately when I heard it :)

Philip George - Alone no more
This just reminds me of summer and holidays :)

Wstrn - In2
It took me a while to find this because trying to catch lyric snippets while it's playing on the radio is quite hard :D

Grace ft G-Eazy - You don't own me
First I heard on the House of Fraser christmas ad and was actually contemplating putting that up... Oh hell I'll do it because I really like the ad, and the song obvs.
I hope this is the full version :D Such a wrong version the first time :d

Enjoy

Blondie

Why is it that people always wan't what they don't have. Well most of them anyway.

Girls with straight hair desire to have voluptuous locks while the latter would give an arm for their hair to be perfectly straight and manageable for just one day. Or is it just me?

So naturally as a brunette I've always wondered and longed for blonde hair. I even have on photo form 10 years ago where I photoshopped my hair very very very light. And it looks nice! A couple of years of being a redhead I started to think about mixing things up and going blonde really seriously. And then Ruby did it... shit! If I do it now it looks like I copied her :D

Another couple of years have passed and I did it! Bleached my hair at home :D Luckily I'm not too invested in the wellbeing of my hair and are willing to undertake these experiments :D Yeap I left it on for wayyy too long under the foil. So my head was actually smoking and piping hot when I took the foil off. Oops! :D Obviously some hair were burnt off and all that was left on top of my head was a length of a finger :D Obviously again my hair were very very very dry especially in that part and after washing would dry into a block :D Tangle teaser does wonders though. Not too bad though I hope :D in work I had to wear a bun or a ponytail anyway so what state my hair was in made no difference and no one knew. Hopefully :D

I can laugh at it now but believe me it took a couple of days (of crying) to get use to it. And I'm still not a 100% sure that I like it... :D Just need to keep it for some time before dying my hair red again (and I'd just found the perfect shade before!!!!) so people wouldn't smirk knowingly :D Or just move to where no one knows me ;)

Morning train people

I sometimes happen to take the train to work, well train and a bus. As the train leaves 6.53 I consider it an early one. So one morning I was sat in a crowded train and observed 2 ladies. One of them was putting make up on, as a secret germ freak I was holding my breath when she put all her brushes on the train table, like who knows what has been on those tables and then you brush your face with it.

But the other one was probably a teacher and all of you out there who had a teacher with awful handwriting so that you wondered what was written on your work let me tell you now...your work was probably marked while on train. So she marked essays or something and seriously, who on earth will understand the handwriting that ended up on the paper? And then all the teachers tell students how their handwriting needs to be nice and whatnot.
