She's hiding behind a bush

Soooooo....

The Ireland trip wasn't as expected. I wanted a nice roadtrip to see all the castles and cliffs and wild horses and all that cliché Ireland stuff. But (as always) we ended up just taking the bus to Cork :D

The first (half)day we went to the Guinness Storehouse. MR. Special didn't get through ticket barriers LOL. Something (stupid) always happens to him :D :D :D. Storehouse was huge and full of all the information on how they brew Guinness, but I think the best part was getting there through the streets lined with the building(s). Gave a different feel to the city.

Temple bar that was buzzing with buskers during the night
but eerily full of trash 6AM

The next day we made our way to Cork and climbed up to our posh spa hotel. (20 minutes in the rain uphill is no joke but worth it in the end). Then the best thing ever happened. I was in our room and Mr. Special had gone out to explore or something. Suddenly I heard a frantic Jasmine! Jasmine! open the door! So I went to peek out the peeping hole expecting to find him aimlessly wandering around the corridor bc he forgot what room we're in. But the hallway was empty?!?! No one there... I'm sure I just heard his voice. And then a lot angrier voice cried out Jasmine open this door! So I did and guess what I found! :D He was frantically trying to open the door next to ours!!!! :D :D I nearly died.

Breakfast at the fanciest hotel that I've stayed evvvah!

Trying new food. Chilli beef. Who knew I'd actually enjoy it. (it did become too hot in the end :D)

Cocktail with a view in the best hotel evvah

Not the best tapas at the best hotel evvah
(Apparently they changed the menu between ordering and receiving food :D, so yeap a bit of dramah)

Blarney castle

The half day trip to Blarney castle was the best part of the trip. The castle itself isn't much unfortunately but the grounds are huge. Before we knew it we were stuck in a queue inside the castle not really knowing what it's all about. Soon turned out to be the line to kiss the stone.

We had queued a good 5 minutes before in the courtyard before taking this photo

Finally at the top where all the action is. At first I said I don't want to kiss the stone, but it is good luck and we had queued through the freaking castle, yes even on the winding small stairs, to get there. It'd be stupid to just walk past. So I pretended, bc it all happened so fast: you actually have to get on your back and lower yourself down headfirst to reach the stone. There is a guy to help you. Didn't feel safe at all... And I didn't reach the proper stone... So I just made the sound :D

Yay it "only"took us about 30 minutes.
(I love my watch :))

Kissing the stone as seen from below

See the weird position they put you in?

Another house on the grounds but as you had to pay extra for entering we didn't.

OMG the best part! Like an actual jungle with a waterfall!

The next day we went to Cork city gaol. The jail. And for some reason it looks so familiar...

We had a free guided tour there :)

When we started to leave I noticed Mr. Special was on his phone and not paying any attention to me :D So I "disappeared" God he couldn't find me at all. Finally when he already left the premises (thinking I had too) I ran after him. And apparently as he was looking so sad trying to find me some guy had told him that I'm hiding behind the bush :D Awkward :D

The view to Cork from close to the jail

Saint Fin Barre's Cathedral

The "amazing" Cork castle :D Yes, it's that small. And since it was closed on the day we went, it wasn't worth the 40 minute bus ride from town centre... I couldn't believe it :D

We spent the last day of our trip in Dublin again.

Dublin castle

OMG the best Greek restaurant!!!! This food was soooo good.
Mr. Special grizzled at first and didn't want to go there but he loves it now too!

I've definitely seen you before ;)

Throughout our trip I made videos with our fakegopro. Thinking how cool it would be to make a short clip about our trip but after uploading them to the computer all the vids are jumpy and glitchy :S There goes my dream of being a vlogger :D

Maybe I should buy a proper gopro bc the ideas I had were cool man!

Burning up

Ha! You came to a northern country and now you look like a lobster!

Thanks Mom! What a loving family :)

Yes, during my time home I caught the sun too much. Twice! First time was a rookie mistake, didn't put sunscreen on my face! What an idiot! And I have a "cool" wavy tanline on my back as well. between my top and where my hand couldn't reach any more. It hurt so bad!

The second time it was my legs and tummy that burned after 2PM! How? Usually they never catch any sun, even during the high time of noon and now they were bright red after being out for an hour after 2PM!?!?!

Notable mentions from home also include meeting up with Emma, I don't think it has hit me yet that I literally see you twice a year :O Remember our trips to Morrisons together? I rarely go there now...
Anyway... we decided to go try an escape room out. First time for both of us. So obviously when I saw the word "easy" I knew we had to try that out. I mean I didn't have a clue what to do, how will it play out, how logical it is or do you have to know the specifics etc. But we did good! The story was that we were on a sinking ship and needed to escape. Started from our cabin and finished in a dark tiny room. I was very impressed with how quickly we got out of the cabin, like 1-2-3 :) Then we started overthinking :D And spent too much time looking at one thing together while there were lights going on and off behind us. We were frantically turning the switches "Nothing's happening!" :D
We'll know for next time :)

Oh and the minute I decided to walk on grass for a little bit I stepped on a friking bumblebee! Jesus it hurt so bad! I was at a theme park with my little brothers and they wanted me to go play football in the pool with them. Somehow I managed to limp towards it and just as the pain was starting to become crampingly painful I got in the water which luckily cooled it and made the pain disappear. A couple of days later it started itching again a little bit but I was lucky and know next time to immediately get in the water when I get stung again. :)

London

The day after THE VOTE London was buzzing! News channels had set up camp in Westminster and protesters had gathered around them. Protesting against Brexit, Boris Johnson, racist borders, David Cameron etc. Other than that area London was actually pretty peaceful and quiet :) Finally I got to stroll around aimlessly and enjoy the city + the weather was just superb - sunny with a nice breeze, had our lunch in a park etc.

Swans :)

Look at this adorable little house in the middle of London!

Traffic jam

There was also Gay parade at the time we were there. We did try to get away from the crowds (Oxford st - Trafalgar square) and maybe that's why the rest of London seemed quiet... Maybe it always is if you just know where to go for that :D. We did end up at Trafalgar square for the red arrows and we made it just in time: we were just at the end of the Mall nearly under the Arch when they flew past. Luckily they do make a sound to warn that they are coming and I was quick enough to get my camera out :) (Mr. Special didn't :D ). And we also saw the end of the parade then. I admit for some reason I was expecting it to be much more extravagant, something more than just guys in pink shirts dancing on double deckers... I don't know.... Obviously Brexit was mentioned on placards here as well.

Aftershock

What to do now? The UK has actually decided to leave the UK!?! The whole of (my) Facebook was in shock. Minus a couple who had hateful nationalists tendencies before or who could be classed as "benefit people". Could we possibly draw any conclusions from this? Or is it too presumptuous of me?

The best comment by far:The experts said 'here are the scientifically economic reasons not to leave', and 'fuckin migrants stealin my job and teachin muslim 2 my kids' won anyway.

Who knows what's going to happen now. Pretty much everyone quit: Cameron, Corbyn, Johnson, Farage. The two latter basically said they're work here is done. But what now? Who is going to lead the UK out of the EU? Not their problem anymore. HaHa. What? You actually believed that the "£350" million a week that the country paid to the EU was now going to be given to NHS? Please can we have a moment of silence...

The very next day it turned out that the claim that was printed on a red double decker campaign bus had been a mistake. Oooops. Mistakes happen, they're only human. So, what else did they lie about to make slightly more than half the nation to vote for them?

But now they're gone anyway. They've abandoned ship. Scotland also wants to abandon the UK since they voted to stay in. Talks of a second independence referendum are under way. Northern Ireland is also thinking of quitting Britain. A ridiculous news of even London wanting to be independent circulated for a good few days :D We shall see. Because no one knows what is actually going to happen. There is no plan. Looks like there wasn't ever a real plan for Brexit. Ooops we didn't think that people would actually vote for it... Ooops, what even is the EU and what does it do? "Like I know they give us money to build new campuses (10k?Swansea - voted out) and revive near dead Welsh towns (EbbwValley - voted out).

Exciting times

Brexit

Today is the day everyone's been waiting for for months. In the last couple of weeks you couldn't read any newspapers or watch news programs without being bombarded with Brexit. It was EVERYWHERE: numerous debates, campaigns, leaflets, you name it we had it. There were even small boats in Thames.

By default I am pro EU. I have never given it much thought or gone in to depth but that is what my gut and heart are telling me. EU is good. Nonetheless I did not register to vote today. I just feel that is none of my business. Yes, I've been living here for 5 years now and paying all the taxes etc. But I guess my heart is not really here and therefore whether the brits want to leave or not and what the consequences are none of my business.

Secretly I am of course hoping that they'll stay. I know EU isn't perfect but we are the EU. Brussels isn't some higher power run by one person. We have chosen people to go there to represent us and if they make crappy decisions then obviously we've chosen crappy people. Largely I am hoping for them to stay because who knows what's going to happen after they leave. Not just in Britain but in the EU. What effect will that have on other countries whose people are afraid and hateful towards "Brussels".

A teeny weeny side of me does want to see what happens (and later on gladly boast "I told you so"). And Trump becoming the president of the USA would be the cherry topping on the shit storm that is about to happen :) Or maybe I'm wrong and everything will be honky dory because the experts do not know best. As the Leave campaign stated in one of the debates. UK is fed up with experts! Done!  What do they know? Nothing I tell you! Leaving the EU means we take back CONTROL? How? We don't know yet but we WILL! All the refugees will magically disappear after we've left and so will all the immigrants taking social housing and burdening the NHS and taking all our benefit money. Away with them. We don't want to conform to EU regulations any more! Meaning we won't trade with them any longer. Oh wait!? We do wan't to trade with the EU. EU will still have those regulations! We will still have to obey them??? But no longer have any power in making or changing them? Good deal! :)

Fancy phones

Why are all the new phones so BIG? I have now come to the conclusion that I'm ready to upgrade my iPhone 4 that is now considered a stone age phone. But to what? One criteria I have is the photo quality must be good. Samsung galaxy s7 should be the best at the moment but the iPhone 6 has the moving photos which are so cool + iPhone 7 is due to be released soon.

There is only one BIG BIG minus to both of them. And it's the size. Where would I keep it if I just want to go out for a walk and not take a bag with me? Is there even any point in coughing up all that money for a fancy phone if all I do on it is text and call people + the occasional candy crush (omg do I have to start from scratch since I don't want to connect to my Facebook?). Like seriously the use of smart phones is completely lost with me. What do you do on it? Instagram? Snapchat? Why? Are you constantly chatting with friends? Maybe I should get friends first...

I do live under the impression that maybe just maybe if I get a phone that takes ultracool photos I would start using Instagram, just for the hell of it... + I have actually found some people that I might want to follow on it :D Or is it just another form of pointless procrastination.. probably.

Last week I was so close to just going to carphone warehouse and buying the Samsung galaxy s7. BUT they do not have rose gold as a sim only option... And I do not want to get a contract. And I neeed rose gold :D Maybe it was destiny telling me to wait for the new iPhone. It does have moving photos after all... I just need a proper life where I can take ultra coo photos of stuff I do etc...

No there is nothing wrong with my current phone, except for the looks (that may be in my head) that I get when I take it out :D
