An ode to failure

Because I fail in life in general :D ;) (Oh you know I always like to over dramatise everything)

Initially this post was supposed to be about work-related fails but since more than a month has passed from the time I thought I'd write this (another fail - see this proves everything! ;) ) and I managed to epically fail today, I decided to glorify all my fails in life, just to warn you - I'll probably fail at that too and forget some important (I made two spelling mistakes in the previous word -.-) fails :D

Firstly: A long time ago (a month maybe?) the door at work that divides the shop floor with the back area didn't open occasionally, you'd type in the code, the green light that shows the door is open comes on but the door is closed... -.- great, now I'm stuck and it always happened to me when I had loads of stuff in my hands or the cashier called and needed some help. The last incidents were funny :D push the open that usually opens the door and then bump into the door and stagger back :D, make a funny face to the camera like reallly? U are doing this to me now? (no one is watching the cameras btw, It's just my fail way to socialize :D ). Good ol' times, the door is fixed now and open normally...

Then what prompted me to write this post was the incident with closing up. Yeah the shutter didn't come down, again -.- everything seemed to be working alright, I had turned the switch on, the lights were both on meaning that there is nothing in the way of the shutter and it should come down, but it didn't. Tried pushing the buttons a hundred times, nothing... finally called my boss, got him out of bed, ooops and just left it up, because he didn't know what to do as well... fun times :D Went to work the next day and my boss sais the other fobs are working fine and what's the problem drama queen? :D Well mine didn't so he went to pick up mine, from the place nightstaff leaves it after closing up and comes back making a huge spectacle, guess what?

The shutter worked perfectly -.- No freaking way!!!!!??? HOW?!? It hadn't worked yesterday!!! I swear!!! Other were like: yeah-yeah keep telling yourself that! I stomped away muttering to myself that I hate this freaking malfunctioning shop that locks people in decides when something works or not on its own and that I will freaking quit when I hear my boss shouting that the battery in the fob had been loose and he'd fixed it secretly - what a jerk! :D

Writing this makes me angry :D

Today I managed to lock myself out of my flat and didn't realize it after I'd been out for an hour and done almost everything I needed to (bought train tickets - yeah I'm going home soon!!!! Can't wait!!! :) - my boss is not happy :D ) and then I was like shooooooooot my keys are on my table!!!!!! This promised to be such a good day!!!! Let's hope my flatmate is home... she wasn't -.- Oh did I mention I went grocery shopping so my bag was full of stuff that needed to be put in the fridge + two pack of fruit juice that were cold and I had to carry in my hands - making them cold too, so after annoying everyone else with my constant buzzing in the hopes that my flatmate just couldn't hear the first buzzes (all the nearby flats can hear the buzzing, yeah it's that loud), I frantically texted her and noticed that my phone is about to die - which it did after 5 minutes -.- My life is awesome isn't it. I got into the hallway and stood in front of my door awkwardly in the hopes of my flatmate returning home soon and no one else would see me just standing there :D I pondered about leaving the juice cartons there (it would've been weird) and going out to get something to eat (with a bag full of stuff to eat). And as I was leaving after an awkward 5-10 minutes of just staying in the hallway I saw the same girl who had let me in the hallway as she was leaving, now coming back - hopefully she didn't notice my weirdness :D

Yeah... my life be like fail after a fail after a fail - but when looking back to those incidents: they are kind of funny :D :D

I'm sure I forgot a lot but that happens when I'm so lazy and put off posting for a month or so... Soz...

The last fail thing I want to mention to a special someone - I made cake and invited you over in my weird ways and you did not even answer me saying that you had other plans or something, did you?!!!!! You were on facebook for at least two hours after seeing my message about the cake - I can see when you saw my message! Well I ate that cake now three days later - you still haven't responded btw...! Freaking fail on my part - never making a cake for anyone... (It was a very very delicious cake, you should be really bummed out for not getting a slice!) :D

Done!

Earlier this week I gave in my last essay: for the Management Research Methods module, for which I had to conduct a survey and then analyse the answers etc. focusing more on what I was doing and how instead of the actual results. -.- Õppime õppima... I conducted my survey last week and thought I'd start writing my essay last Thursday... well, that didn't happen - instead I just looked at the assignment brief and the mathematical things we had to do and was just like da fudge is dis... me wants to cry, for a couple of hours... then I went home to watch tv series :D Fun times

The weekend I spent playing Rugby (hopefully I will write a post about that too, no promises though :D (me iz lazy now), so obviously no writing...

On Monday I had my French Oral Exam - for which I started studying in the morning - it was at 16.00. We had 6 topics given before, on which we had to do a 5-7 minute presentation, so my morning consisted of actually writing these presentations. Finally the dreaded time came and my topic was: En France, est-on libre de ses croyances? - pretty oukay topic - talked about the controversial anti-burka law and then a general conversation about Estonia's religious beliefs - pagans we are! :) Lied a bit too, unintentionally though, please forgive - it happened because I was just concentrating on talking and talking and not what I was actually saying, so I ended up saying that Corsica is bigger than Estonia... Oooops, my bad... Oh well... Hopefully I never see her again... Emma kind of lives with her :D yeah, everytime I visit Emma I have to hide in her room, just in case, so my stupidity does not come out... I hope she forgot about it and doesn't check, who cares right? Right?

Anyway after that I went straight to the library and started writing my essay which was due Tuesday 3pm. Meanwhile agreed to go to work for 2pm, losing an hour and a half of writing time!!!! It was a hard decision. But the essay went rather quickly, wrote about a thousand words in three hours, then went down the hill to grab a bite to eat and watch Game of Thrones (Hey!!! I already had a thousand words out of 2500 written by 7pm, so I deserved a break :D), then slept a bit, and started writing again. I think I wrote about 1700 words by the end of Monday and then went to bed at 2AM, put my alarm at 5AM, woke up at 7 :D That's how I roll, who in their right mind would wake up at 5 anyway???? I was halfway through my analysis... but by 11.30 or so I was done - all the tables and graphs were in and referencing done, printed it out twice, because some bullshit freaking reason the default setting of the printer is printing on both sides of the paper and it is not allowed for assignments ffs!!!!! Then I ran out of money on my card which I use for printing... OMFG, can I just print it out and be done with it? NO! it's a freaking gauntlet to get my assignments in. Every time something goes wrong. Luckily I had pennies in my purse and there is a machine that puts money on my card in the town computer room - there wasn't one last year. So yeah finally got it printed, one-sided, like they want. It was sunny :) and about 23 degrees celsius while I walked up the hill, enjoying the freedom that would soon come :) I have no exams!!! Ouyeah...

Still, I'm not going home just yet :( I'm a slave for money and therefore am staying here in the middle of nowhere for another "fabulous"  summer, yay me! :D

Music of the month

a.k.a It's playlist time!!!!! Awwwyeah, I always find good new music after I've posted this and be like aww maaaan, so I'm excited :D No but these are good as well :

This was originally a rap song (I know you aren't dumb) but I like the background without the rap so much better, listened to it for hours at once :P

Came across this old favourite when partying in Malta :D
I love the metallic sound of her voice :)

The newest of my findings this time round.
When I first heard it I didn't really care, wadewa not my kind of music, but then I stumbled upon a mix of her latest album and was mesmerized by the song. Caution!: strong language :P

I've been wanting to add this song to my playlist for ages now, but always forgot :(
I do not listen to it 100 times in a row but I like to listen to it every once in a while :)
(not loving the intro though - I like to get down to business without any delays ;) )

And the last one of course is the Estonian song :P
Also and oldie I've rediscovered and looooooove sooooo much!

Hope you enjoy them as much as me! :)

Thieves, thieves everywhere...

...at least Jazz said so :D (for a dramatic effect :D)
Don't even know why I was supposed to write about it, as there's not much to say really. Last Monday was the second time when someone stole something when I was at work. First time was maybe two months ago when someone desperately needed a milkshake and didn't pay for it.(not the full story - comment added by Jazzz)
Back to Monday, I get into the backroom, take my coat off when suddenly two co'workers already there rushed out, saying that he put it into his pocket, came back, one holding the guy's coat from behind, just like when little child has done something really bad. I took my till, to sign in and then wanted to leave till area, my le bf was like, where are you going, erm, away, I have 8 more minutes until my shift starts, and he responded, well, you ain't gonna go back there, because maybe he will get agressive...protective of him, don't you think :)

And now Jazz is going to write about her experience with thieves...stage is yours, don't let people to wait

Yeah, well I don't know why Emma is being so secretive :D the milkshake thing is far more interesting and funny than she made it out to be. Anyway I still remember the first time we had a thief. Event of the evening by far :D And the funniest thing is that he actually turned towards the camera, even took a couple steps closer, all that we could get a good look and just put the wine bottle in his coat and walked out. Luckily someone was watching the cameras and voilà the police was called out. My first thief :D Well not mine but you know what I mean, hopefully :D I can't remember if they caught the guy but I presume they did since we do live in a small town where everyone knows everyone and everything.

I've been present to the capturing of another thief too, when suddenly my boss came rushing through the warehouse to have a look at the cctv footage and the yelled out the bastard! Okouuu something happened. He immediately told the story and the description of the person to the walkeytalkey we have that connects several establishments and the police and the person was caught basically right away. And yet again he had faced right towards the camera when he did his dirty deed. Police came to collect the footage a bit later. Had a lovely chat with the lovely officer :) He was cute :P

Ooooh after a long think I remembered what else I wanted to write about :D A couple of months ago we got a letter warning us about scams that people would come in and want to change money and then confuse the cashier and obviously get more money back than they gave us. So a couple of weeks ago someone did come in asking to change money. As it was an unusual amount I was instantly suspicious but went along with it to see how do they do it :D so changed their 20s into 10s and counted the amount right in front of him out loud (we have microphones on the till that record everything that happens as well as cctv, to insure myself) and I could see that he didn't particularly like my counting, so he tried to say nooo, it's way too much 10's and that he really wanted 50s (we don't have £50 notes in tills), so could I change it back to 20s and as he was saying that and trying to be a bit sad and hurt awwww... poor you... I saw that some of the notes were upside down. When I counted them they were all facing the same directions etc. I was like wtf when did you do that????? Closed my till immediately: oooooooops! Sorry can't open the till anymore (suck it!). Standard procedure if a customer starts complaining that he/she was short-changed , is that a member of management  (e.g. me :D ) comes and takes off the till and counts it to see if there is more money in the till than the system says. If there is the customer is right and the money will obviously be returned. Luckily the person who I was dealing with left after closing my till (mayb starting to be suspicious that his scam isn't gonna work this time?) that and no money was lost that day :D Yay me so proud :D

Not about a thief but recently a customer approached me and said: "Do you know that there's blood in front of the tills, a lot of it?" I was like what the!!!!!! What do you mean??? No way! And rushed to the tills where indeed there was quite a lot of blood on the floor... What happened????????? Got the mop out and cleaned it and the cashier told me that someone had come in with a nose bleed. Wow that must've been a heavy nosebleed, like the amount of blood was unreal. Later he had come back and said that he had cut his hand (fighting?) and will go to the hospital - sensible man peut-etre? But yeah. Did you know that there's blood on the floor? :D lol - sry but lol :D Omg I've never been so scared, I thought that someone had attacked the cashier or something.

Last minute addition :D The phone rang, several minutes after that my boss walks out (I was at the tills) with a determined face like something's a bit wrong. Then listens to the song Lick you up and down til you stay stop. Sings along. Awkward moment.... and obviously he forgot what he wanted to say and came out for. Later he remembered and said that someone had called and asked for the security words or codes or whatever to our office computer and system. He was like (the hell?), yeah just call our IT support, they'll help you (no they won't if you're a freaking criminal - but that way they'll know more about you haaaaa!). And he had been like aaaahhh... ok... thanks.... I just wonder how many people would actually tell those codes over the phone to a random person claiming to be from god knows where. And how much money could they steal when they have the access to the system??? Note to self: Never answer the phone ever again :D

Hard and stressful work being a sales assistand (not as dramatic as the title would say but still :D) ;)

A question to y'all, is the light blue text better than the yellow one? Should we change colours? Let us know :)

All these lovely assignments

I'm not even gonna lie that I enjoy reading new stuff and writing essays etc to get to know more, no, they are all pure torture to write and every time I think that it can't get any worse, it always can. My last essay was about Operation Olympic Games, quite few articles, everything can be said in 10 sentences max, so writing 2000 word essay was just crap. I have one more essay to do and then I'm done for this year, can't wait, and of course, as you already guessed, I'm so not looking forward that last one, will be even worse than the last.
On top of these lovely essays we had a group presentation in one module on Tuesday, and well, let's just say that one presenter was so nervous that she eventually started to cry and ran out, not the best team performance, but at least no one asked questions, whether they were sorry because of the incident or we just had such a smart presentation which answered all the questions or people just didn't understand anything, we will never find out, but I'm definitely going for the really smartass presentation option :D

PS! One thing is sure, no modules next year whicht include group work, it's pure execution, so no matter how good/interesting whatever else the module is, if it includes any group work, then no thanks, next please :P

Epic Reunion!

Today is our only free day (omg it was over a month ago! So to be clear I am talking about Sunday, 24th March :D). Obviously everyone is sleeping when I get up at 9.30, because I have an awesome mission to fullfill! Two of my good friends decided to move to Malta in February and it would have been a huge mistake not to meet up - especially when most of my close friends live in different countries (UK, Germany, Malta and now one who I haven't really been in contact to, but still hold dear is in Iceland - I promise tomorrow I will write to everyone :D). It is actually kind of sad to think that when I go back to Estonia to visit my family I  basically only have one good friend left there and even she lives in a different city now :D Sorry if I forgot someone... I still love you! Maybe... depends on who you are ;)

Anyway back to my story. I was nervous, I had looked what time the bus is supposed to leave and how to get to the bus station but as a typical me just hung around in my room thinking if I need to bring something else with me or not and whether or not I have weather appropriate clothes on... So finally managed to get a move on, obviously missed the bus, but wasn't too worried about it since I thought another one would come along soon. In freaking 40 minutes!!!! Why do I do this to myself. While waiting for the next bus Jane managed to call me already and freak me out about the bus stop, if the bus is really stopping there or not, since the plan in the station only showed like 6 major stops, but google maps showed that mine is the 5th stop out of like 10 or so. Luckily it was sunny and I got to sunbathe :D while waiting. When the bus arrived I decided to ask the driver if the bus stop does exist... He didn't understand a word I said -.- FFFFawesome..  thanks for your help and that you do not even know which bus stops are on your route! So sat down and started counting the stops right away, though I knew my journey would last for about 35 minutes or so. When I got to the 15th stop in like 15 minutes it was clear that even google maps didn't show all the bus stops and I stopped counting stops and kept looking at the board that says what stop is next... And I still managed to half freak out when I saw mine on the board - pushed the stop button nervously and made my way to the front door - they only have a front door on the buses (+ no one wanted to sit next to me although the bus was full and people were standing... forever alone...). And when I got out no one was there! The hell are you??? It is the right stop, right? Right? Wait there had to be a skatepark nearby... Where the hell? I can't see any skatepark!!??

Oh wait it's across the road. phew, I am at the right stop, calling Jane then to demand where she is :D Me is here! :D She came in a matter of minutes since their apartment is right around the corner. Their flat is soooooooo nice!!! Really wow, can't even compare to the ones in Aber, and its just 400 euros per month (divided by two since two persons are living there). We had breakfast and then just hung out for 4 hours... How did the time fly by so quickly???????????? Good company that's why ;) Then we managed to get out of the flat too :) Went to a place that had a lovely view over Sliema and then to a restaurant to eat something - salmon and philadelphia cheese pizza - it was delicious + cake! Cake! Jane had a weird relationship with hers but oh well... Talking to it and really, and I mean really enjoying it :D ;) Then we took some pics and they drove me back to the hotel... The day went by so quickly, I wanted to spend more time with them!

I had to be back at 7 o'clock since our lecturers had arranged a last group meal. Free food yay! :D Although since there were two tables it wasn't really a group meal :( Our Eastern-European group sat at the smaller table and all the others at another table. So yeah... we did that yesterday, would've wanted to talk to the lecturers or something too :D On the plus side though since we had less people at our table we got more wine overall :D 2 carafes to us and 2 to them :D Evil laugh when we realised that :D :D And some of us said a heartfelt toasts :D I'm definitely going to miss them next year :D

We went there!

The view from the tower

A mini castle :)

Can't believe I almost forgot the party after the dinner! Most of us went to the local pubs (except for the Asians and Rebecca and on Polish girl who went to the hotel to do their presentation). And at an Irish pub (we were two groups again, as usual, the brits and us, the lecturers were with the brits, playing pool) the girls started flirting with the bartender. We had had three tequila shots by then (one round bought by you-know-who) and some cocktail. Woo-woo? Yep, then we decided to order another pitcher, this time Fat frog - the green drink you can see on the photo and then the bartender decided to bring us free shots - Baby Guinness - they're sweet :) The night ended with only our party at the pub and he let us dance on the counter :D The Italian guys who tried to hit on us were creepy though :D
All in all was a good night! :)
