Pink hair don't care

I've been wanting to dye my hair pink for a long time, but it's not exactly suitable for a "proper adult" is it :( and I'm not even talking about full neon pink or anything like that, just a little hint of it, like rose gold.

So finally I thought hey my poor little hair haven't seen a hairdresser in forever, and I don't really fancy screwing it up all on my own. In case it does turn out to be neon pink :D And what perfect time to do it than before my 2 week holiday (so it can fade off before going back to work if it's too intense - always thinking of damage control :D )

And voila!

Really nice me thinks. So went to meet my fam at the airport and they didn't say anything about my pink (ish) hair... ooooook is it really that bad? So I plucked my courage up and asked hey, what'ya think? And the honest answer was: Is this new? Have you not had pink hair before? Huh, didn't even notice it was diffrent :D

Nice...

I really love it but it washes away so quickly :(

Hello Hygge

So with all the backlash with My Little Box there were a few suggestions under their facebook page that the frustrated people recommended subscribing to instead and I found the HYGGEBOX.

It is more expensive than MLB but you obviously get much more and more diverse products.
It claims to be wellbeing and happiness in a box. And I think it might just actually be that. It has things that are practical to use and other items that just bring joy!

My first box happened to be a Hot Chocolate box!

So what was in it?
  • A BIG Flake bar, bigger than the one you can buy in shops! normally these type of boxes have the smallest one available
  • Hot Chocolates DUH :D 4 different varieties: Milk Choc+, Dark Montezuma Giant Buttons, White HotChocSpoon and Instant
  • Handmade Chocolate Lip Balm - tasted nice
  • Bothams Biscuits - Chocolate Chip & Ginger SPice
  • Japanese Mug
  • Lottie Shaw's Parkin Cake - not for me :D thanks
  • Cinnamon
  • Reindeer Stencil

My attempt at the reindeer

In November I got the Danish Advent box

With the cutest little elf doll! Love it! And the heart and stars decorations
The box also included
  • Make your own Christmas Cracker Kit
  • Christmas scented poppurrii
  • Black Forest Hot Choc Spoon - not the best flavour... I could only take one sip of it, the rest went to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the sewer...

And there was also supposed to be a mulled wine kit in there but I never received mine :( and I only noticed like a month or so later so felt a bit awkward writing to them about it after so long... will check the list carefully from now on :D

Lynx escape

Sooooo... we have  a tiny zoo in a nearby town. Privately owned. Real tiny. But somehow they've managed to have a few lions and now lynxes. The lions have always been a controversial subject there as it's basically a homebrewn zoo and in quite of a state. I think it has had a couple of different owners since I've lived here and town folk are torn up about it. Is it good or is it bad?

One day (a few months ago now as I am superfast in writing up these posts) news came out that a lynx had escaped it's enclosure and was roaming around freely.  Furthermore it could've been up to three days prior to the news that the lynx actually escaped... but they didn't notice until now :O Farmers were freaked out - what about their sheep? Mummys were freaked out - what about their young children?

There were a few sightings of the young lynx girl meaning she was still in the vicinity but no one could catch her. Until about a week later when news came in that she had been shot... :( Outrage towards the council (it was their hired shooter) for killing a little baby basically. Poor little lynx and poor little zoo.

A day or two later news came in that another lynx had died at the zoo! Strangled to death! Apparently the council was supposed to do a full investigation of the enclosures in the zoo to see if the zoo indeed is safe for animals, especially big cats. So the staff panicked and started moving the lynxes to another (bigger/better?) enclosure and that's when the terrible accident happened...

Huge backlash against the zoo now...

People did go there to help them with modernising and repairing the enclosures and I think they've had a ban on having dangerous animals in there now which they are appealing against.

Oh and a few days before this dozens of octopuses crawled along a beach in another nearby town...

And before all of this the deadly Portuguese man o'war washed up on the beaches here as well...

Curious curious...

Byebye MLB

This is the last post about My Little Box
but not due to me!
They decided to stop delivering to the UK market themselves
Was it because of the big backlash they got after the August and September boxes? There were people relentlessly showing their frustration under each and every single one of the fb posts.

It all kicked off when September box arrived on our doorstep, super late might I add!

La vie en Rouje

A very bleak and empty box isn't it
Missing from this photo is the one size fits all t-shirt that everyone HATED

This box included
  • Nuxe Huile Prodigieuese - little oil for hair, skin and everything
  • Nuxe shower gel with a gold shimmer
  • Red Lipstick
  • And a t-shirt

That's it?!? No wonder everyone was losing their shit

Roll on October when everyone was still reeling from the disaster of Rouje

This box was a collaboration with ASOS.
The only memory of ASOS I have is the never delivered clothes I ordered a few years back... so not looking forward to this...

The look of it is already better than the one before, don't you think?
 Contains:
  • A zipped pouch in a comfortable size for putting all the makeup palava in
  • A notebook for thoughts and scribbles
  • Handcream
  • Nude by Nature Perfecting Primer
  • Pureheals Propolis Rose Callus Sheet Mask
  • ASOS Black Liquid Liner
  • 31 Creativity Idea Cards...

Not too bad

And now to the last one
the Sunday November box

Contains:
  • a sticker that states "Life should be paused on Sunday Mornings" I have stickered it to my wall :D Ha you'll find a few of these around my flat lol I just can't bear to throw these away, they're cute
  • Microfiber white Turban
  • Biscuit Stamp letters
  • Facemask Powder - sounds interesting
  • Dr Hauschka Lip Gloss
  • Mixa Cica Repair Balm
  • Tiny bar of Chocolate

Although I was thinking of unsubscribing I am sad to see they've stopped shipping to UK all together :(

Does the stress ever end

Doesn't look like it :(

So first of all one person went long term sick! and then another 2 were due to go on holiday at the same time!! and one of the students said she's not back yet to help cover the shifts! OMG need to hire someone and quick! We had already interviewed a guy previously but since he had another job he couldn't start back then, but could now. He sounded good, confident, like he knows what he's doing. Perfect candidate... but the trouble with these kind of people is that sometimes they think they are too good for the job... Aaaand he was thaaaat guy... why oh why? Started rubbing people off the wrong way. At first I thought nothing of it, he was eager and we have some haters so oh well. Customer service so good but physical work, he'd rather someone else do that... and then he had to go home early because he was feeling sick, twice, then phoned in sick and then wanted to leave early for an appointment... khm khm excuse me... you've been working here for 3/4 weeks? How could anyone think that's ok?!  And after the bye bye all hell broke loose! He had pictures! Pictures in a freaking 7 page complaint :D in a couple of hours... Fun... Amazing how people can portray themselves as victims who have endured the most awful treatment ever in the world ever. I think at one point he even said that the whole place and nearby houses will burn down! (Omg was that a threat?)
And the best part ever, about after a month of this he regularly shows his face again :D Lol I haven't actually seen him myself yet but the time will come :D Can't wait...

---

One day a weird burning smell started surfacing everywhere, especially in the morning... Like dust burning etc, coming from the ceiling. Called one guy out and when he popped his head up in the ceiling he could smell the awful stench, said smells like something died there... great.. that's all I need a freaking dead rat up in the ceiling... who do I even call to get that removed, have to find it first because that was not the first guys expertise. Second guy came the next day, afternoon. Couldn't smell anything... great... Promised to come back first thing in the morning 2 days later to have a proper look. And guess what? The smell had gone by that time :D Did the rat burn to ashes? Did our neighbors move the body they were harboring when we started asking questions about "that" kind of smell :D Who knows... the smell is gone and hopefully will not return

---

And finally! I've always loved waterfalls :) Made special trips to go and see them! And now I have one in my office :) My own personal waterfall, seeping through walls, using cardboard folders to pour over the shelf edge to make a pool on the desk. How nice! Oh yes that desk is full of cables, printer and computer and radio and router etc. Ok they found the leak and fixed it, even the printer started working after 5 hours of being dried out... A couple hours later (when it started raining again) I get a phone call... the wall is leaking again.. Awesome! Bag everything! Did I mention this happened Saturday? Soooo the roof fixers came out again on Monday and unblocked the guttering and a hole in the roof. Great, after 2 ruined keyboards this is finally over :) Haha no... Came in Tuesday to a full on spectacular waterfall - best one I've seen yet. Whatever they fixed pushed the water to the other wall now. The wall with all the alarm, light, aircon etc control panels :) At one point you could hear them making THE sound... yeap this is the way I want to die... an alarm control panel exploding right next to my face :) We managed to half fill a big bin within 2 hours! And surprise surprise they found another blocked guttering and a huge crack in the wall above our ceiling :)

Who said life is boring? Can't wait to see what's next :)
