Music of the month

a.k.a It's playlist time!!!!! Awwwyeah, I always find good new music after I've posted this and be like aww maaaan, so I'm excited :D No but these are good as well :

This was originally a rap song (I know you aren't dumb) but I like the background without the rap so much better, listened to it for hours at once :P

Came across this old favourite when partying in Malta :D
I love the metallic sound of her voice :)

The newest of my findings this time round.
When I first heard it I didn't really care, wadewa not my kind of music, but then I stumbled upon a mix of her latest album and was mesmerized by the song. Caution!: strong language :P

I've been wanting to add this song to my playlist for ages now, but always forgot :(
I do not listen to it 100 times in a row but I like to listen to it every once in a while :)
(not loving the intro though - I like to get down to business without any delays ;) )

And the last one of course is the Estonian song :P
Also and oldie I've rediscovered and looooooove sooooo much!

Hope you enjoy them as much as me! :)

Thieves, thieves everywhere...

...at least Jazz said so :D (for a dramatic effect :D)
Don't even know why I was supposed to write about it, as there's not much to say really. Last Monday was the second time when someone stole something when I was at work. First time was maybe two months ago when someone desperately needed a milkshake and didn't pay for it.(not the full story - comment added by Jazzz)
Back to Monday, I get into the backroom, take my coat off when suddenly two co'workers already there rushed out, saying that he put it into his pocket, came back, one holding the guy's coat from behind, just like when little child has done something really bad. I took my till, to sign in and then wanted to leave till area, my le bf was like, where are you going, erm, away, I have 8 more minutes until my shift starts, and he responded, well, you ain't gonna go back there, because maybe he will get agressive...protective of him, don't you think :)

And now Jazz is going to write about her experience with thieves...stage is yours, don't let people to wait

Yeah, well I don't know why Emma is being so secretive :D the milkshake thing is far more interesting and funny than she made it out to be. Anyway I still remember the first time we had a thief. Event of the evening by far :D And the funniest thing is that he actually turned towards the camera, even took a couple steps closer, all that we could get a good look and just put the wine bottle in his coat and walked out. Luckily someone was watching the cameras and voilà the police was called out. My first thief :D Well not mine but you know what I mean, hopefully :D I can't remember if they caught the guy but I presume they did since we do live in a small town where everyone knows everyone and everything.

I've been present to the capturing of another thief too, when suddenly my boss came rushing through the warehouse to have a look at the cctv footage and the yelled out the bastard! Okouuu something happened. He immediately told the story and the description of the person to the walkeytalkey we have that connects several establishments and the police and the person was caught basically right away. And yet again he had faced right towards the camera when he did his dirty deed. Police came to collect the footage a bit later. Had a lovely chat with the lovely officer :) He was cute :P

Ooooh after a long think I remembered what else I wanted to write about :D A couple of months ago we got a letter warning us about scams that people would come in and want to change money and then confuse the cashier and obviously get more money back than they gave us. So a couple of weeks ago someone did come in asking to change money. As it was an unusual amount I was instantly suspicious but went along with it to see how do they do it :D so changed their 20s into 10s and counted the amount right in front of him out loud (we have microphones on the till that record everything that happens as well as cctv, to insure myself) and I could see that he didn't particularly like my counting, so he tried to say nooo, it's way too much 10's and that he really wanted 50s (we don't have £50 notes in tills), so could I change it back to 20s and as he was saying that and trying to be a bit sad and hurt awwww... poor you... I saw that some of the notes were upside down. When I counted them they were all facing the same directions etc. I was like wtf when did you do that????? Closed my till immediately: oooooooops! Sorry can't open the till anymore (suck it!). Standard procedure if a customer starts complaining that he/she was short-changed , is that a member of management  (e.g. me :D ) comes and takes off the till and counts it to see if there is more money in the till than the system says. If there is the customer is right and the money will obviously be returned. Luckily the person who I was dealing with left after closing my till (mayb starting to be suspicious that his scam isn't gonna work this time?) that and no money was lost that day :D Yay me so proud :D

Not about a thief but recently a customer approached me and said: "Do you know that there's blood in front of the tills, a lot of it?" I was like what the!!!!!! What do you mean??? No way! And rushed to the tills where indeed there was quite a lot of blood on the floor... What happened????????? Got the mop out and cleaned it and the cashier told me that someone had come in with a nose bleed. Wow that must've been a heavy nosebleed, like the amount of blood was unreal. Later he had come back and said that he had cut his hand (fighting?) and will go to the hospital - sensible man peut-etre? But yeah. Did you know that there's blood on the floor? :D lol - sry but lol :D Omg I've never been so scared, I thought that someone had attacked the cashier or something.

Last minute addition :D The phone rang, several minutes after that my boss walks out (I was at the tills) with a determined face like something's a bit wrong. Then listens to the song Lick you up and down til you stay stop. Sings along. Awkward moment.... and obviously he forgot what he wanted to say and came out for. Later he remembered and said that someone had called and asked for the security words or codes or whatever to our office computer and system. He was like (the hell?), yeah just call our IT support, they'll help you (no they won't if you're a freaking criminal - but that way they'll know more about you haaaaa!). And he had been like aaaahhh... ok... thanks.... I just wonder how many people would actually tell those codes over the phone to a random person claiming to be from god knows where. And how much money could they steal when they have the access to the system??? Note to self: Never answer the phone ever again :D

Hard and stressful work being a sales assistand (not as dramatic as the title would say but still :D) ;)

A question to y'all, is the light blue text better than the yellow one? Should we change colours? Let us know :)

All these lovely assignments

I'm not even gonna lie that I enjoy reading new stuff and writing essays etc to get to know more, no, they are all pure torture to write and every time I think that it can't get any worse, it always can. My last essay was about Operation Olympic Games, quite few articles, everything can be said in 10 sentences max, so writing 2000 word essay was just crap. I have one more essay to do and then I'm done for this year, can't wait, and of course, as you already guessed, I'm so not looking forward that last one, will be even worse than the last.
On top of these lovely essays we had a group presentation in one module on Tuesday, and well, let's just say that one presenter was so nervous that she eventually started to cry and ran out, not the best team performance, but at least no one asked questions, whether they were sorry because of the incident or we just had such a smart presentation which answered all the questions or people just didn't understand anything, we will never find out, but I'm definitely going for the really smartass presentation option :D

PS! One thing is sure, no modules next year whicht include group work, it's pure execution, so no matter how good/interesting whatever else the module is, if it includes any group work, then no thanks, next please :P

Epic Reunion!

Today is our only free day (omg it was over a month ago! So to be clear I am talking about Sunday, 24th March :D). Obviously everyone is sleeping when I get up at 9.30, because I have an awesome mission to fullfill! Two of my good friends decided to move to Malta in February and it would have been a huge mistake not to meet up - especially when most of my close friends live in different countries (UK, Germany, Malta and now one who I haven't really been in contact to, but still hold dear is in Iceland - I promise tomorrow I will write to everyone :D). It is actually kind of sad to think that when I go back to Estonia to visit my family I  basically only have one good friend left there and even she lives in a different city now :D Sorry if I forgot someone... I still love you! Maybe... depends on who you are ;)

Anyway back to my story. I was nervous, I had looked what time the bus is supposed to leave and how to get to the bus station but as a typical me just hung around in my room thinking if I need to bring something else with me or not and whether or not I have weather appropriate clothes on... So finally managed to get a move on, obviously missed the bus, but wasn't too worried about it since I thought another one would come along soon. In freaking 40 minutes!!!! Why do I do this to myself. While waiting for the next bus Jane managed to call me already and freak me out about the bus stop, if the bus is really stopping there or not, since the plan in the station only showed like 6 major stops, but google maps showed that mine is the 5th stop out of like 10 or so. Luckily it was sunny and I got to sunbathe :D while waiting. When the bus arrived I decided to ask the driver if the bus stop does exist... He didn't understand a word I said -.- FFFFawesome..  thanks for your help and that you do not even know which bus stops are on your route! So sat down and started counting the stops right away, though I knew my journey would last for about 35 minutes or so. When I got to the 15th stop in like 15 minutes it was clear that even google maps didn't show all the bus stops and I stopped counting stops and kept looking at the board that says what stop is next... And I still managed to half freak out when I saw mine on the board - pushed the stop button nervously and made my way to the front door - they only have a front door on the buses (+ no one wanted to sit next to me although the bus was full and people were standing... forever alone...). And when I got out no one was there! The hell are you??? It is the right stop, right? Right? Wait there had to be a skatepark nearby... Where the hell? I can't see any skatepark!!??

Oh wait it's across the road. phew, I am at the right stop, calling Jane then to demand where she is :D Me is here! :D She came in a matter of minutes since their apartment is right around the corner. Their flat is soooooooo nice!!! Really wow, can't even compare to the ones in Aber, and its just 400 euros per month (divided by two since two persons are living there). We had breakfast and then just hung out for 4 hours... How did the time fly by so quickly???????????? Good company that's why ;) Then we managed to get out of the flat too :) Went to a place that had a lovely view over Sliema and then to a restaurant to eat something - salmon and philadelphia cheese pizza - it was delicious + cake! Cake! Jane had a weird relationship with hers but oh well... Talking to it and really, and I mean really enjoying it :D ;) Then we took some pics and they drove me back to the hotel... The day went by so quickly, I wanted to spend more time with them!

I had to be back at 7 o'clock since our lecturers had arranged a last group meal. Free food yay! :D Although since there were two tables it wasn't really a group meal :( Our Eastern-European group sat at the smaller table and all the others at another table. So yeah... we did that yesterday, would've wanted to talk to the lecturers or something too :D On the plus side though since we had less people at our table we got more wine overall :D 2 carafes to us and 2 to them :D Evil laugh when we realised that :D :D And some of us said a heartfelt toasts :D I'm definitely going to miss them next year :D

We went there!

The view from the tower

A mini castle :)

Can't believe I almost forgot the party after the dinner! Most of us went to the local pubs (except for the Asians and Rebecca and on Polish girl who went to the hotel to do their presentation). And at an Irish pub (we were two groups again, as usual, the brits and us, the lecturers were with the brits, playing pool) the girls started flirting with the bartender. We had had three tequila shots by then (one round bought by you-know-who) and some cocktail. Woo-woo? Yep, then we decided to order another pitcher, this time Fat frog - the green drink you can see on the photo and then the bartender decided to bring us free shots - Baby Guinness - they're sweet :) The night ended with only our party at the pub and he let us dance on the counter :D The Italian guys who tried to hit on us were creepy though :D
All in all was a good night! :)

Film stars

I'm so tired of this already :D I remember when I went to France two years ago, I wrote the perfect diary for 19 days and then I couldn't be bothered anymore :( so no one knows what happened during the last 9 days of my stay in France - so I am determined to finish this! :D just three more posts (including this one) to go + I have to write a reflective journal about it by Monday -.- omfg why man :D :D

So Day number ?? 6? yeah... hopefully :D

The first day when the temperature was really hot - or as you'd expect from Malta. Good, maybe get a little tan? Though I when looking at the brits I was too scared to bare my skin to the sun... :D The first half of the day we spent at Popeye Village which is a rather unusual and weird (in a good way) village. Me likey ;) Though for some reason I thought of Pipi Longstocking immediately... don't really know why... As the attraction is mainly for families with kids we were greeted by animators, who played the part of Popeye, pirate etc. I can just imagine them being oh so cheerful when wearing dark clothes during the summer heat... Poor people!

We started with some team building exercises (didn't really help in my opinion but oh well...) that included a relay race in firemen gear (hat, vest and a fire extinguisher). Then three of us were taped together and we had to race with the other taped group. We won!!! Ouyeah! The brits kept breaking their tape. Amateurs :D We did awesome. And the last one was giant jenga. We won again since the brits managed to knock theirs down :D

After that we all had the chance to be film stars. They gave us some old dresses ( omg the heat + the dresses = can we go now? :D) to put on and then let the filming begin! The plot was rather simple and very true to Popeye theme: Three pirates hear pretty ladies somewhere and decide to go find them and disrupt their peace. Everyone screams (keep in mind that we had 16 girls and 2 boys) :D And there's Popeye to save the day - after eating his spinach of course ;) After a lunch break we got to see the film :) Though they had cut out a lot :( the hell we were there for that long shooting the parts that weren't even remotely in the film! :D (hard life of a film star!) And the funniest actors were of course our lecturers :D omg :D Well to be fair they have done like 5 years now :D So tru professionals :D About half of our group bought the film (5 euros?) as a souvenir, I didn't :D I'm too cheap for that :D

Then we went back to the hotel and we got the rest of the day to conduct our surveys on the street and surprisingly the brits, who always have something to say and pretty much yell over everyone etc etc struggled the most in getting people to answer their questions. Ou yeah :D I was definitely gloating after realising that :D in the end everyone managed to get their surveys and interviews done and the drama of the night was the fact that Rebecca's group had lost their answer sheets. Ooooooooh Ouch! luckily they found them but yeah they were pretty upset, especially as the group research counts as 40% of the final mark... If they hadn't found them it wouldn't have been the end of the world, since more emphasis was put on the fact of presenting what we did not what we found out. Final mission of the night was to do our presentations the old fashioned way. markers and huge papers :D

Then the eastern-europeans went out for a meal :) Most of us had rabbit, since we wanted to try local food :D Didn't impress me that much though :( A lot of bones! But edible :D Donõt know if I would try it again... Maybe in a different form... :D

This is how Popeye Village looks from afar

There is something romantic about these old-looking houses :)

Popeye!

Santa's village seemed a bit odd in there, especially in the summer... :/

This is the building that most reminds me of Pipi...
maybe it's the colours and the horse?

Farm life equals FOOD!!!

Day 5 started with a ferry trip to the nearby island of Gozo which was an adventure all by itself for some in our group :D It lasted only about half an hour and lets say that about half of it I stood in the toilet queue... Stay classy :D It was all because 2 of the 4 stalls were out of order... So the queue moved super slow... but if you gotta go you gotta go, blame nature. Anyway when we finally were done :D we noticed that people were standing near the doors waiting to go out. Shite! We had to run to our minibuses... ran down the stairs, but the door didn't open! Panic what to do what to do??? (at that time I didn't know that there is a huge red button hidden somewhere to open the door okay!) ran back up again, people were still on the ferry :D saw an elevator - second attempt to get to the car deck and hopefully not get stuck in the elevator (I am slightly afraid). When we were descending we could hear engines roaring. Oh god the cars are moving!!!! The doors open and the car deck is half empty... Looking around we spot our minibuses - the only ones still left on level two phew! Ran! and thanked the heavens that we made it :D Lol As I got into the minibus, I learned that the other one is still missing two polish girls. A minute later saw the blonde one also coming from somewhere and running to the bus. Oh yeah I'm not the only stupid one :D This fact always makes me happy :D So we had to get off the ferry and drove in front of the place where the pedestrians came off the ferry and luckily our last missing polish girl found us pretty quickly :) Everyone's safe, now let's explore Gozo!

Start with a typical Maltese fish market. Not our intention though and only our bus had the chance to see it since the others found a parking place and we were looking for one when we accidentally turned on a street where there is only one exit - the way we came in. And to top it off, it was a narrow street as well. Got to the end, where there were stalls with men offering fish and asked if there is any chance we could get out without having to turn around. Nope. So let the mission: lets do a u-turn with a minibus on a narrow street with cars parked everywhere, commence! :D The fish traders were really nice and helped us turn around with one actually coming out of the café to move his car so we would have more space. Aren't they nice and dark and cute :D? Yeah a lot of people were eyeballing us, fun times :D Crazy tourists :D Finally got out of there and found the other buses with whom we found a better parking lot. Got ourselves parked properly, got out of the car just to hear that oops we don't really have any time to be here and got back in the buses and drove off. Well that was useful :D

After a short drive we arrived in a small farm. Small being the keyword here :D It was as if I was transported to my childhood - the feeling that is - everything was so homely and far from the superclean lux stuff we expect to see in a tourism attraction. I was quite surprised as we saw the actual size of the farm though... no green grass anywhere, just fences and brick. And it was even smaller than my garden back at home. Not the best life for the rabbits (in cages), goats, sheep and dogs... but maybe that's the maltese way... I don't know... We all had to do a little bit work there - feed the sheep and clean up the brick floor. It was nice doing something for a change :D Was funny seeing some of the girls scream and squeal when the animals moved. And, we got to milk a sheep :O WOW it was sooo funny :D and weird. I got milk out after the first try! Yay natural :D Another tick to a box in a list of things to do and experience in life ;) After all that hard work we got a homecooked meal. Finally food (the previous days we had to cook for ourselves)!!! And so much! 2 chicken legs... oh god it was delicious but way too much! :D It was a bit hard to climb into the minibuses after ;)

The Azure Window - the most famous image of Malta probably. You could see it practically on every tourist brochure introducing Malta. And it was impressive. Especially with the blue sea and sunshine :) A remarkable view that us northeners rarely see (speaking for myself obviously). And next to it is the inner sea with its light blue water that is connected to the openwater through a tunnel in the cave. And yes before you aks - they do run boat trips in the tunnel ((insert sultry voice)of love). So cool!

Another food location? Noooooo! I'm too full! (how dare I say that???) Anyway I present you the Ta' Mena Estate: a family business that promotes agri-tourism. And makes their own wine!!!! Mmmmmm... wine :D We had a little tour of the property - saw olive trees, goats (now on real grass! :)), breathtaking view of the island and their vineyards, overly friendly dogs ( oh how I miss having a pet to cuddle with). And then!!! Wine tasting!!!! Accompanied by a truly gourmet snacks: Biscuits, tomato sauce, pesto, olives, cheese!!! And it was freaking delicious!!! Omg I've never been  a fan or appreciated these little snacks ever but oh my god did they win me over :D Our end of the table had empty bowls in no time and we slowly started borrowing them from the other side :D (obviously those people can't appreciate delicious food! ;)) And we learned how to hold a wine glass properly, how to check if the wine is of good quality and approximately how much alcohol is in there. Trust me the next time we had a meal all of us tried those tricks! :D

Back to the ferry ( and yet again for some reason I was left alone to find the minubus :D but this time I was the first one there! ouyeah!) and hotel, where we had a little debriefing and a chance to work on our own research project - do the questionnaires that we were supposed to ask from the people on the street the next day.

This is where the sheep from the first farm live and the place that we cleaned

From the outside you wouldn't guess in a million years that it is a farm

Do you know what this is?

Ta' Mena Estate also had a goat, named Polly - so cute

Visiting my future mother-in-law

I was working on last Thursday and the first hour was with my le bf, didn't really see him, which was kinda suspicious, because he always has something he wants me to do, as he really enjoys the fact that at work I have to do what he wants me to do. Anyhow, my supervisor that night was le bf's friend, who wished me a good weekend in a very weird wayafter we closed the shop, but didn't think about that until le bf asked me to take an overnight bag with me if I'm gonna stay with him that night, because we are going to visit his mum next day. WHAT??? You serious??? And you are telling me now??? Panic, big time. Then it was at least clear that his friend knew, which is why she wished a good weekend that way. And he told me that after work, not before when we saw at work just because then I have less time to worry, thanks dude, that's really helpful.
So I had at least 4 friends calming me down, Scarlet told me to put her number to a speedy dial, so if I freak out I can call her :D So first couple of hours I just panicked. Then had a shower, and then the packing bit, oh dear, hard task already and then he tells that we are going out too on Friday, he wants to show me off to his best friends, so more things to take with me. Oh, and I even painted my nails after months, god, have never ever done such an awful job, nailpolish everywhere :D
So the next day, we started driving around 2, all the snowy mountains made it to a really nice journey, and of course his fast driving, I just love it.
Anyhow, before going to her mum's he had his hair cut, because I wanted him to do so, didn't force him tho, just hinted that it would be nice :D
And finally there, her mum hugged me, and was really nice, which made me to calm down. Spend some time with her mum and her bf, I stroked their cat, who clawed me, because I was afraid of his paw, when he tried to catch my hand, so now I'm the mean bitch, for the rest of my life, because I was the one who wasn't nice to his cat. Then we went out with his best friends, from pub to pub, I was quiet most of the night, he was like, be sociable and whatnot, but what's there to say if they haven't seen like half a year and talking about their friends, who is working where and dating who and marrying when, what should I say there??? Got back to her mum's after midnight, went to sleep and next morning had breakfast and started to drive back. So didn't really spend much time with his mum, which is why I don't really have much to say about her, dying to hear what she thought about me, but le bf hasn't told me yet, or she hates me and he wants to save me from knowing that :D
And on Saturday back to work, one coworker said that he looks good with short hair, my absolute win, he was quite beaten by the fact that I was right when I suggested him to get his hair cut. At least once I was right, and that makes me sooooo happy because usually he has to be the one who is always right.
