Blackpool

Absolute ghost town during the off season...
Eerily spooky...

I can see the appeal and uniqueness of Blackpool when it's full of people and all buildings are open and businesses running but man, most of the buildings on the strip need a facelift. Or just even a new coat of paint would do the trick. It just looks like it's stuck in the eighties, in it's glory days. I find it quite kitsch but would love to go back to the attraction park(s) :D and see it filled with people.

The tower looks like a dwarf version of the Eiffel tower :D

Some of the restaurants are open all year round although they only get maybe only one table a day full of customers. Surely you need to pay more in wages and utilities than that table brings in?

Oh and the people... Oh god, I really hate fancy posh places but at the same breath I really hate the rough benefit type places aswell... and Blackpool is the latter.

B-day

I've kind of wanted to make a tradition of writing down what happened on my birthday every year. So this year I didn't really pay much attention to world news and when I tried to look back I couldn't really find anything so nothing important :D

But what did I do?

Mr. Special woke me up by singing happy birthday and bringing me breakfast in bed (potato pancakes yum). Then I went to swimming in the pool, like I promised myself I would every Sunday from now on. It's freaking expensive though :D £3.50 for a go. When you're a member it's only a pound though :( But the membership is like a yearlong commitment... Not a fan. If it was monthly or even three monthly I would be on it like a bonnet.

Then we went to the first Sunday Lunch Nick's has offered. A bit pricey but good. I love they're little posh twist on traditional food :) Just what we need in this little town. Then cocktail time at libertine. My fave is the banana cocktail that smokes. Since we started a bit early, khm 6 o'clock. We needed food on a Sunday night, in a little Welsh town that has been abandoned by students for the easter break... Needless to say most places were closed. But Little Italy wasn't (although I'm not their biggest fan).

We were quite lucky though since we got their last table. Yay. They even had people sitting downstairs :O never seen that ever. Food was alright. I convinced Ruby to try mussels, which she liked :) and we ended the meal with Limoncello shots. I managed to spill half of mine on the table...

AAAAAnd then all of a sudden the couple at the back corner stood up and started hugging each other. OMG we just witnessed a proposal!!! Did we? Sure? Yeah she's crying!! Omg!!! :D

Adele

WOW is all I can say :D I don't think I can actually describe it.

When you look at today's artists there isn't really anyone that stands out that yeah they are f***** stars that will be remembered in years to come (or is it just me?). And then you suddenly realise that Adele is definitely in that category (or is it just me?).

My point is I've freaking been to her concert!!!! yah man! ME! saw Adele live!!! And pretty close up as well if I say so myself :D side view mind you but she moved around quite a bit and kept waving at everyone so that didn't even bother me. When I got the ticket and checked the seat I was quite bummed. Thought I'm not gonna see ****. Then I walked in and awed out loud. Literally people to the left of me did the same (would've been ideal to be in the next section). And the poor people to the right. God bless 'em. They couldn't believe it. They were practically behind the stage :(

You might be thinking that it's quite boring sitting through an Adele concert, well because most of her songs are quite miserable. But she herself is such a laugh and a presence that I wasn't bored one bit. Oh and damn that girl can sing!

It was ahmazingggggg!!!! Definitely one of the nights I'll long remember :) (+ I recorded a few videos to watch back :D) (maybe if I get around to it I'll upload them here :D)

Ooooh and yes I got some confetti ;) had to push past people leaving because it didn't rain on me :(

Move B, get out the way!

Everybody stay inside coz I'm learning to drive :D

Yeap, I've finally decided to do it and it's freaking scary man!!!! I've had about 6 lessons now and I can't wait when it finally starts "coming naturally". Even turning the car on gives me anxiety. Don't get me started with the clutch. We've had many a conversations like why did you put the clutch in? - I DON'T KNOW!!!! I really don't :D Well I get it in theory but when you're on the move then jesus help us all.

Saying that, my instructor is very nice and calm  and talks through everything although more emphasis is obviously on practical driving.

So what do I struggle with:

  • Releasing the hand break. Can anything else be so frustrating? Every single time I didn't put it all the way down!! Let go of the button too quickly. So the car slowly moved beeping all the way, making me lose my concentration on steering... One thing at a time please. (Didn't have this problem the last two times yay!)
  • Clutch control. Sometimes you have to have gas to make the car move, sometimes you don't. Like what???? WTF? (not talking about hills)
  • I'm either too gentle with the pedals or too rough. How do you find the balance? Like breaking I try doing it slowly and gently so there's no jerking but nothing happens until we're already too close to something in front of us and all I can hear next to me is break break break!!!
  • Driving fast. Like why isn't 10mph a perfectly acceptable speed?
  • Paying attention to anything else except for where I am in the road... Too much to the left or right? That's all I think about. Now though, I can kind of watch my speed as well (which is frustratingly slow for the cars behind me :D)

Fun times, my shoulders are absolutely tense after those hours :D
