Estonian xmas party

As I had to spend my first Christmas away from home :( I decided to submerge myself into Estoniannes even only for just one night. Hence the official Estonian Christmas party in London.

When we got there half an hour later than the official start, but there was still half an hour left for the entertainment program to begin, the main room was already full! :O So we were forced to go into the second, brightly lit room where the buffet and kids santa corner was. The only real downside to that was the fact that we kind of missed the whole entertainment all together... We could see the stage through the wide open doors but couldn't really hear what was going on...

As soon as we sat down we went to grab some (proper) food, yum :) to me at least :D Mr. Special whined about nearly every single thing on the plate :D Therefore the bigger my surprise later at the food shop stall where he went full loco and bought two carrier bags full of stuff (brown lemonade?!?!). But hey I got to eat my moose sausage sandwiches for the next week so I was great. He also partook in a little raffle and won a home styling magazine that was 3 years old? Pointless...

And that was about it... I'm not disappointed with the night (omg I even saw someone there from Aber!) but I wish we could've been sat in the main room with the stage to be able to enjoy the night even more plus maybe had someone else to talk to as well...

Remember remember

the 5th of November...

yes I do realise it's actually the end of December... Wow does time fly fast or what?!

So for the first time in a couple of years the 5th November fireworks have fallen on my day off :) Which meant I can actually go to the main display :) Last year we had to go to the local school's one a day earlier.

We were prepared, as this was the official town's bonfire night we expected a lot of stalls etc, something to do. We finally found the food queue :) hot dogs, burgers etc. Mucked about a little bit beforehand in the bar queue and then kind of decided to split and I went to join the food queue, stepped (maybe a little rudely) in front of a lady with a buggy. Hey we got there at the same time just from different directions.. Waited ages... About twenty people in front of us... Until we noticed that something's weird with the burgers being handed out... they were in hot dog rolls... and we hadn't seen proper hot dog sausages for a while now...

And guess what. We got the LAST burger!!!! WTF there was still about twenty people behind us waiting for the same thing. Ever heard of announcing? (now I felt especially sorry for the lady behind me...). Who invites a whole town to a bonfire night and only provides food for the first half hour? The main display an hour away and crowds still coming... Someone made a booboo.

Then the last hour we just waited in the pitch dark... for the train to go past. We were at the rugby pitch right next to the tracks and fireworks would interfere with train service so had to be planned for the opportune moment. There was like one stall selling crap but that was it, not even music or a big BONFIRE! All of a sudden that little school's bonfire night last year seemed to be much better value...

But when the fireworks finally started WOW. One of the best I've seen definitely, seemed to go on for ages and the crowed really loved it as well, making woooooooooouu sounds for the big bangs :) I was not expecting that level of professional fireworks :D

MLB Autumn

I can't believe I've received another 3 boxes already :)

Starting with the coolest box ever (I am indeed talking about the actual cardboard box).
The theme of this month was fashion in collaboration with Freddie My Love and Claudie Pierlot

The best thing in this one is the envelope style wallet which I wouldn't use every day but is perfect for going to parties when you only need the essentials with you. And it is in a pretty colour scheme as well :)

Other things in it were :
  • Erborian Korean skin mask
  • Mascara
  • Eau Micellaire

In October I got the Brooklyn box.
The best thing about it is the Donut worry sticker :D that I immediately peeled off and restickered on my wall next to the desk so I can see it and donut worry everyday :) I dread the day it should ever fall off...

This box is about drinking coffee (which I don't do), we got a cool coffee stencil. Even though I don't really drink hot drinks anymore to make use of it I still appreciate the coolness of it ok :D

And of course an actual metal coffee cup. So cute. The magazine had various cake recipes to make in a cup and microwave and then a couple of days later and email came through saying that those recipes weren't actually meant to be made in THIS particular cup as you cannot put it in a microwave :D oops... someone messed up :D

Other items in the box were:
  • Collar studs (quite pretty but not my style)
  • A little donut badge for jeans or something... :S
  • Nail strengthener - Love it, quite a strong and sweet smell
  • Eye Liner
  • Eau de toilette

Now the most recent box which is all about sleeping (Totally my thing ;))

Best thing in it by far is the sleep mask, I have wanted one for ages but could never justify buying one as I do not need it per se. But now I have it I am actually using it!!!

Other things in the box:
  • Overnight jewellery dish shaped like a moon
  • Makeup remover gel
  • Garnier face scrub
  • Yves Rocher eau de toilette

All in all quite good boxes :) Can't wait for the next one already

Out of my comfort zone

I just hit the send button for my scholarship application. Wohooooo! Now the waiting game begins. No biggie though, just a bit over 10000 pounds are on the line here :D
The application consisted of different parts, motivational and academic etc, the usual stuff. And then…a video. Excuse me? Who knows me knows that I don’t even like being photographed (Jazz knows how I panic and hide :D ) but as it was compulsory one had to do whatever was needed. So obviously I am no guru and don’t cut and edit a great thing together like the pro youtubers, so the only option was to have the perfect take in one sitting. If I messed up I had to start again. Did it countless times, but practice truly makes perfect and on the third day I kinda mastered it. To be honest, I never thought it would be so hard though, because you talk to the camera, how hard can it be, right? Very! Especially as my scholarship might be dependant on that. And every little detail starts bugging you when you watch it, like the noises you do between sentences or words you use or when you look away for even a split second or the pace of talking, literally everything.

Anyway, I did my best, so fingers crossed now!

Supernatural

Could this possibly be the best thing on tv???
I'm not sure why it has taken me so long to discover this but omg I wish it would never end!

I think I started watching it early this year from season one and am finally starting to catch up. I think I have one full season left to watch :'(

So what is it? Why is it so amazing? I think it could be the 2 hotties...

The first seasons were just two brothers working a different supernatural case (a.k.a. killing killing and killing) in different episodes, there was a slight storyline of finding their father in the background to tie the episodes together but it wasn't that important. Until it all changed and angels were introduced to the show and basically just screwed everything up for Sam and Dean. Meaning the episodes weren't that random anymore (but there were still lots of killing).

I love the ridiculousness of this show, the special episodes where they poke fun at themselves like when they had to act through different tv shows (Grey's Anatomy, sitcom, CSI Miami and a Herpes commercial) to get out of the tricksters trick, or the "Supernatural" books and dealing with the author and fandom. Not to mention when they were brought to the "real" world and everyone kept calling them Jared and Jensen, actors of the tv show "Supernatural".

During the whole show hey have died a combined 117 times between themselves

At least one of them has been
  • In hell
  • In heaven
  • In purgatory
  • Soulless
  • Knight of Hell
  • Vampire
  • Ghost
  • Jefferson Starship
  • Demon
  • Psychic
  • Old Man

They've met and mostly killed
  • Lucifer and most of the other Arch Angels but not God
  • Death, War, Famine and Pestilence (in person)
  • Tooth Fairy
  • Fairies
  • Imaginary Friends
  • Krampus
  • Snooki!!!!!
  • and obviously a LOT more of supernatural characters like ghosts and ghouls etc.

Ok obviously the awesomeness of this show can not be put into words so I found my two favourite videos to put up instead...

Last but not least I need to mention the 2 "new" outstanding and awesome characters

Crowley: The King of Hell

Castiel: the Angel who played god

Ok I need to stop now... :D

Be careful what you wish for...

Whoever said it, was right. I think I have wanted to live in London since I was 15 and visited it the first time. 10 years forward and I’m moving to London. Exciting, stressful, nervous and about 70 other emotions going through me daily.

I’m extremely sad to leave my job because of the people I work with and the memories it has created and the exciting situations that it would continue to bring to my life. I really thought I would stay home for longer, but life had other plans. The countdown has begun and the new chapter shall start at the end of the year.

At the moment the main focus is on finding a home. If only people bothered to reply to potential tenants…like seriously, do people loose their manners in London? I get that you can’t reply to everyone as I can’t be bothered to reply to all the automated offers or whatever they are which offer me a place on the other side of the London, well, clearly you did not read my advert and you send the same text to everyone. But when the tenants ask you to “send through a little something about yourself” and I have taken the time to do it, then come on, if it didn’t rock your boat then at least send me the automatic reply created by the site, but no, they just leave you hanging there -.-
And how many potential tenants are willing to fly in from a different country to sign the contract? Their loss, my perfect place is waiting for me…somewhere. Right?

Oh yes, and then I ordered myself a new sim, so that I can agree on viewings beforehand and have things lined up when arriving. Jazz was kind enough to post it to me and snail mail, is literally snail mail as it’s almost 3 weeks since she posted it…Should I even hope that it will arrive?

At least I’m working on my social calendar, bought first concert tickets. And now I’m eying Bruno Mars’s tickets, someone I have wanted to see live for years.

Not sure if this is a leftover from last time or found it straight after
but it's so good!
MK & Becky Hill - Piece of Me

Kideko & George Kwali - Crank It
Not for constant replay but if I happen to catch a glimpse of it I freaking stop everything I do :D

Insurance "#€#"!"

I passed my practical test the first time! Yay! I was so nervous though but had a good feeling - did a couple of minor mistakes (misjudged the direction of a car on a huge roundabout and nearly got in his way but luckily I'm still too slow in starting moving so timed it perfectly :D and then near the very end stalled, twice...) I also think I was extremely lucky: the show me tell me questions where how do use the horn and how do you know if the brakes are ok before driving... Then the special manouver  was bay parking. First thing before driving away :) And we were already in the space so just drive out and back in :) Easy peasy. For some reason I was expecting a 3point turn or parallel parking too whenever we stopped anywhere but the rest of the test was just driving around :) And then getting the results was exilirating :)

And we have a car. Perfect right? Well not in the UK. Here you also have to get insured on everything and everyone and just blaaaah. Oh did I mention it is hella expensive especially if it is your first time...

So found the cheapest quote, sounded good, they even said it would be a bit cheaper if I waited a month after getting my license. Ok no problem, I'm in no hurry anyway. Then 2! days before the policy was supposed to start they called asking for further documents... (it'd been a couple of weeks since they took the money upfront...), ok sent them straight away. Then they came back saying I need a black box to get the insurance!!! Are you kidding me? You didn't say anything about it the first time we spoke or even when you accepted my money for it! WTF?!?!?

Then luckily (fingers crossed) we found a smaller firm that offered my insurance even cheaper and wheeey no black box needed!! :) It should start Monday, if nothing goes wrong...

Simultaneous

Ever since I've graduated uni I've been looking at various job ads and urged Mr. Special to do the same bc I want to gooooo far far away from this place... I'm truly done now! But neither of us has applied to anything until now... all of a sudden two great opportunities in different parts of the country... Great...

Worst or best? I don't even know :D case scenario we both get the job. Defo worst case scenario neither of us gets the job... If only I'd get the job we would be moving near Birmingham, not to a nice place... But the job actually gives me a clear path out of the shop... Otherwise I feel I would be stuck in a shop for the rest of my life which I don't really want...

If only he gets the job we would be moving to Chester!!!! Better option definitiely! I love Chester and wanted to move there for a long time... but that means I have to quit... after only a year at my current role... And some time off from work could be great (I can afford beng off work for a couple of months quite comfortably) but the timing again is not the best... Who wants to lounge around doing nothing during the winter and then find a job as soon as nicer weather comes back... Stupid really... And if I take too much time off work, find another job during next autumn it would also look weird? Like what did you do for the 8? months???? Just sat on your ass... cool you must be a really motivated person...

I have also looked at masters courses but again there isn't anything really that is close to my heart near Chester/Manchester/Liverpool.

Then if we both get the job I thought the ideal place to move is Shrewsbury which about an hour away for both of us and commuting to work for an hour isn't that bad...

Argh I don't know...

Then this summer finally my sister was planning to visit and I would love to show her Aber (Hey it's cool for a day or two)... If we do move this would be an added expense...

But in a cruel twist of fate probs neither of us get the job and I will be stuck here forever MWHHAHAHAHA!!!!

New fiver

The new fiver is out now for a couple of weeks and it's so nice. I don't know what I expected but it's much prettier than in my imaginations :D And yes you can't rip it. Tried, grudgingly :D

On the first day we got one from the bank, about two days after they were officially released Budgens wouldn't accept it :D They looked at it very suspiciously and asked for something else as payment... LOL you serious? God we have been getting emails after emails saying these are coming out and notifying us about all the ways to check for genuine ones etc. They thought it was play money... Lord help people

At first we thought we'd keep a couple but after a few weeks I've realised that we need to keep an old fiver instead... duh... So I'm on the lookout for pretty ones, if there's still any left... bc for some reason most people here crumple their money terrible...

Fawlty Towers Dining experience

Fawlty towers the tv show is brilliant!

And when I saw the Dining Experience advertised I knew we had to go!

I am always a bit skeptical about theatre shows that require audience involvement because, in case you haven't notice I am freaking awkward... So I was terrified and excited at the same time.

The actors really even looked like the real actors :D From the minute the show started, with us being shown to our tables we were in stitches (there was this one lady who really took part in the show so the others thought she was in on it and placed there).

There were 7 of us to a table and three tables. Our table only had spoons... Manuel!

We had a typical 70s three course meal, which wasn't the best but the main focus was on the show anyway and the actors delivered!!!! I think Basils character was my favourite, his RIGHT! was on point! Imagine Basil's rudeness, Manuel's literal translations on every order and Sybil's attempts to give us a nice dining experience (occasionally yelling at her husband).

To be honest Sybil was the only one I didn't like... I think they portrayed her as being too good for this and enjoying humiliating her husband too much.. When the tv show she is more realistic and handles all the crisis calmly and efficiently.

Flat viewing

For some reason I just love looking at flats and houses :D I freaking love going in the houses in Old Town Tallinn. They're just so cool with their hundred (hidden) staircases and rooms and levels. I want to move in...

So when I spotted that there will be an opening day for new the new flats next to the new Tesco building here I couldn't pass the opportunity to be nosy. Although it was a bit awkward as at the time there was no one else there so the agent showed us around... Obviously interested in making a sale, but we just wanted to see.

They were so lovely though. The top floor (second floor) 2 bedroom flats were amazing! And with small balconies... God for a split second I even contemplated buying one... :D but they were all gone. Luckily for Mr. Specials wallet ;)

All that was left were the ground floor flats but "thanks" to the big windows - awesome on top floor because of the view to the sea and harbour - practically anyone who walked by could get a pretty good glimpse into your flat... especially kitchen-lounge area that had double glass doors basically to the street (there is supposed to be a tiny terrace between)...

Omg I just went to the agents website and found they have a freaking 6 bed semi-detached house for sale for 400 000! What? The nicest top flat cost pretty much the same :D

I can't wait when we can move to new flat/house already!!!! Please let it be a new build tooo!

Staff

I just want to scream from the top of my lungs, then cry, then crawl into a hole and stay there for the rest of my life :D

I just can't anymore, why are people stupid? Why do they want things from me?

A while back one person went to work in another shop for a day, didn't tell anyone and didn't get paid. :D Now she's whining... Ummm.. excuse me?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Why the hell are you only telling me this nearly two months later? I have no idea how long you worked etc. How am I responsible for paying? So I sent an email to the other shop, all her details etc. And they did nothing! :D :D :D :D Like at least answer yes she worked for us or something? Anyone there?!?

Then I have another one who we missed 6 hours off, totally our fault but he can't wait til the next payday and needs to get it NOW!!!!! You do realise it's only like 40quid? And you just got paid. Yesterday... Have you already spent the rest? Or jesus christ are you one of those people who only has 5 pounds for the week for food or something? How can people live like that?

Then I have a girl who basically can't waste her time on work because of her uni studies and isn't willing to help out... Did I mention we have freaking 3 people off sick at the same time...

Why is the wage bill so high I wonder...

Then I have the others who as soon as I'm not there take cigarette breaks or are suddenly "super busy" in the office... And then most of the time complain that they didn't have enough time to do all the tasks that needed doing...

Dog sitting

About a year ago we offered to dog sit for Mr. Specials friend, only for the weekend. It was awful :O The dog was about a year old big energetic labradoodle. Jesus christ. Mr. Special took it for a walk all the way up penglais hill and back, about an hour and a half and the dog came back just as energetic as ever. Are you going to take me for a walk or not? Then at night it kept crying if we left him in the kitchen and barking when we let him be in our bedroom whenever someone would walk in the courtyard...

Did I mention we are not allowed to have pets according to the tenancy agreement?

Mr. Special is still having nightmares about it.

So when I said one of my friends is going away for a week and needs someone to look after her dog, he wasn't too happy about. But this time it was an old dog who barely ever made a sound. A perfect (illegal) dog for us? And he was bless him. But on the second day of us having it Mr. Special took it for a lunch time walk and bumped into one of the letting agents.... F****** perfect... Apparently there is a man living upstairs who has a severe dog allergy and we need to get rid asap!

Mr. Special was shitting himself :D even looking to book into a dog friendly hotel for a couple of nights, before the weekend when we could breathe easy - no office hours ;). But that would have been ridiculous... So we got the friends friend to take the dog for the rest of the time.

And you know what? All the agent (who even rang up that first day to check we would get rid of the dog) did was come to the courtyard and ask Mr. Special "is it done?"!!!!!! WTF?!?! That dog could've perfectly have been sleeping in the other room while that convo took place... FFS!

My little box summer edition

When I saw a review of the May box I knew I wanted this box too. I mean, it has French origins and delivers a variety of beauty products each month. So exciting! So I subscribed instantly and got the June box a couple of days later. Crazy fast.

Just my luck to get the worst one first :D If only I had looked at reviews before subscribing - not good :D
The box is super cute though

In that box were:
  • Kusmi tea Ice tea sachet, haven't tried yet...
  • A see-through blue bikini bag that is quite cool. I use it for all the pretty-small bottles and make up stuff I have for travelling :)
  • a mini nail polish - the perfect blue-greenish-mint colour but the quality is crap!
  • a vest top that is one size and actually fits me :D
  • glitter eye shadow... yeap... not using...
  • hair sea salt spray with UV filters - haven't used it yet but am optimistic about it at least :D (read from a review that it's supposed to give volume... Why haven't I used it yet!)
  • a little magazine of girly stuff :D

Overall not the greatest start for me :D and was slowly starting to think I wasted my money on it but decided to wait for the next one before cancelling (if).

And omg the next one was the best: COCONUT!
I looooooooooove coconut :)

Like the box alone is sooo cool
(I might have an obsession with boxes)

Insides were so much better this time too :)
  • Magazine again, coconut themed
  • Passport cover - all I need now is a passport...
  • Small bracelet that just fits around my wrist :) Cute and not too extravagant :) Plus I like that I got the blue version and not the red one :)
  • a dotted sash bag
  • Yves Rocher noix de coco eau de toilette - smells sooooo nice
  • Ojon rare blend oil moisture therapy
  • Hand cleansing gel that actually smells like coconut too
  • After sun cream :)
Whats not to love?

How can they possibly follow that?
With the Friends box (sorry the photos are upside down :D I have to restart my comp if I want them rotated apparently :D don't ask)

  • Sweet and salty propercorn popcorn that Mr. Special immediately hid away from me
  • A clip on fish eye camera lens! OMG so cool
  • A nail care product pouch. Always handy to have with me and looks super cute :)
  • Banana-mango scented face cream... not too sure about the scent :/
  • Batiste hair spray
  • A sash bag to keep all that in :)
  • A magazine again obvs

Can't wait for the next one already! :)

Followed

You know that feeling like someone's following you. All of a sudden they're a couple of steps behind you and seem to be walking in the same pace. So you naturally slow down to just let them pass. Because that's what they normally do. Because they are not following you obvs, they just happened to walk the same way at the same pace. Happens.

Not yesterday though. And when did it get so dark at 9PM?

So I heard footsteps behind me and saw a shadow that told me he was only a couple of steps behind me. So I slowed down a little. So did he. I slowed down even more. So did he. I was practically standing still pretending to look at cars and the scenery etc. and so was he all of a sudden. WTF? I could see it in the corner of my eye who it was. My downstairs neighbour who is not all there in the head. Super creepy. Always lurking behind the corner or in his flat. Harmless, I think.

Proper full stop now to "enjoy" the sea view (in pitch dark). He must walk on, what other choice does he have? Well, he chose to stop too, a couple steps behind me, just so I could see him from the corner of my eye. Whaaaaaaaat? Are you kidding me? Took my phone out and texted Mr. Special that I'm being followed. Waited ages (a couple of minutes) for him to reply. And yes all this time a figure was standing behind me.

Where is Mr. Special when you need him? Not looking at his phone that's where. I felt awkward just standing there so I went to sit down on a freaking wet bench! It had just rained. And had my phone out waiting for a reply. He came with and me stood a couple of steps to my left now. He couldn't stand behind me as he would've been on the road then. WTF do I do. If I move he'll just follow me!

So I started playing candy crush. If he wants to be awkward and stand there like a weirdo. Go for it! Luckily he now left. Disappeared (quite fast now) into the darkness that surrounds the castle. So I got up and went home as quickly as possible too. Constantly looking over my shoulder now... (and yes with a wet bum... :D )

She's hiding behind a bush

Soooooo....

The Ireland trip wasn't as expected. I wanted a nice roadtrip to see all the castles and cliffs and wild horses and all that cliché Ireland stuff. But (as always) we ended up just taking the bus to Cork :D

The first (half)day we went to the Guinness Storehouse. MR. Special didn't get through ticket barriers LOL. Something (stupid) always happens to him :D :D :D. Storehouse was huge and full of all the information on how they brew Guinness, but I think the best part was getting there through the streets lined with the building(s). Gave a different feel to the city.

Temple bar that was buzzing with buskers during the night
but eerily full of trash 6AM

The next day we made our way to Cork and climbed up to our posh spa hotel. (20 minutes in the rain uphill is no joke but worth it in the end). Then the best thing ever happened. I was in our room and Mr. Special had gone out to explore or something. Suddenly I heard a frantic Jasmine! Jasmine! open the door! So I went to peek out the peeping hole expecting to find him aimlessly wandering around the corridor bc he forgot what room we're in. But the hallway was empty?!?! No one there... I'm sure I just heard his voice. And then a lot angrier voice cried out Jasmine open this door! So I did and guess what I found! :D He was frantically trying to open the door next to ours!!!! :D :D I nearly died.

Breakfast at the fanciest hotel that I've stayed evvvah!

Trying new food. Chilli beef. Who knew I'd actually enjoy it. (it did become too hot in the end :D)

Cocktail with a view in the best hotel evvah

Not the best tapas at the best hotel evvah
(Apparently they changed the menu between ordering and receiving food :D, so yeap a bit of dramah)

Blarney castle

The half day trip to Blarney castle was the best part of the trip. The castle itself isn't much unfortunately but the grounds are huge. Before we knew it we were stuck in a queue inside the castle not really knowing what it's all about. Soon turned out to be the line to kiss the stone.

We had queued a good 5 minutes before in the courtyard before taking this photo

Finally at the top where all the action is. At first I said I don't want to kiss the stone, but it is good luck and we had queued through the freaking castle, yes even on the winding small stairs, to get there. It'd be stupid to just walk past. So I pretended, bc it all happened so fast: you actually have to get on your back and lower yourself down headfirst to reach the stone. There is a guy to help you. Didn't feel safe at all... And I didn't reach the proper stone... So I just made the sound :D

Yay it "only"took us about 30 minutes.
(I love my watch :))

Kissing the stone as seen from below

See the weird position they put you in?

Another house on the grounds but as you had to pay extra for entering we didn't.

OMG the best part! Like an actual jungle with a waterfall!

The next day we went to Cork city gaol. The jail. And for some reason it looks so familiar...

We had a free guided tour there :)

When we started to leave I noticed Mr. Special was on his phone and not paying any attention to me :D So I "disappeared" God he couldn't find me at all. Finally when he already left the premises (thinking I had too) I ran after him. And apparently as he was looking so sad trying to find me some guy had told him that I'm hiding behind the bush :D Awkward :D

The view to Cork from close to the jail

Saint Fin Barre's Cathedral

The "amazing" Cork castle :D Yes, it's that small. And since it was closed on the day we went, it wasn't worth the 40 minute bus ride from town centre... I couldn't believe it :D

We spent the last day of our trip in Dublin again.

Dublin castle

OMG the best Greek restaurant!!!! This food was soooo good.
Mr. Special grizzled at first and didn't want to go there but he loves it now too!

I've definitely seen you before ;)

Throughout our trip I made videos with our fakegopro. Thinking how cool it would be to make a short clip about our trip but after uploading them to the computer all the vids are jumpy and glitchy :S There goes my dream of being a vlogger :D

Maybe I should buy a proper gopro bc the ideas I had were cool man!
